Below is a poem that I wrote for my Creative Writing course and I thought that I would share it here. I don't know if there are many people that enjoy reading these kinds of things, but for those that do here it is.
Kindred Spirits
by: G.J. Morgan
April 3, 2011
Across the room a figure enters
wearing a black hooded cape,
all that can be seen is a shadowy face,
a mysterious face. The spirit of this stranger intrigues me
draws mine towards it,
luring me in. Guiding me to it like a flame draws
a moth; not to its doom, but to something more.
My spirit is connected to this one somehow.
Kindred Spirits.
I get up from my chair and walk over to where he is
not knowing what will happen or where it will lead;
Just that a warm, comfort radiates through me in his presence. I look
into the face concealed by shadows and wonder
what those eyes looking out at me are saying. I think to myself,
"if only I could pull back that hood…" then suddenly
as if my thoughts entered his mind, he pulls back the hood
revealing a kind, gentle face and smiles at me.
Indeed we are kindred spirits, one in the same. We belong to each other
he to me and I to him.
Kindred Spirits together once again.
