Mario has two big advantages over Zelda in terms of sales.

1. SMB and SMW were packaged in with the NES and SNES. Similar to the success of all Wii Series games that were bundled with something.

2. Mario has so many spinoffs including the already mentioned Mario Kart series while Zelda basically has just as the mothership titles.

Pokemon also has the advantage of several spinoffs and the marketing scheme of gotta catch 'em all red/blue business. In my house there are 2 Diamonds and a Pearl so that my brother, sister and I can all play our own games. We only have one TP and one PH in comparison.

On the other hand though, Donkey Kong is not far behind Zelda's sales and there hasn't been a proper DK game since 64.

By the way, Zelda isn't my favourite series, I really don't have one but those CD-i games are awesome. I'm glad I never even knew of them until recently.

[QUOTE="josh1772"]Yeah it's repetitive and junk but I have a question. How is 1:1 ever supposed to work? I'm not doubting the technology but the animation. Are they going to animate Link doing every sort of motion including stabbing yourself? If everything became FP I could understand. If they can get it work, that's great but I'm skeptical.osan0

well at the controller level, wiimotion+ should get everythign sorted. from what ive read, there not adding 1 but 3 new sensors to the wiimote. to itll be able to tell with more accuracy what direction its pointed in, what angle its at and so fourth.

after that, its a case of taking the data from the controller and, through some incredibly crazy maths and programming, mapping all those motions to the model (or a particular mart of the model like the hand or arm).

weve seen primitive versions of it in wii sports (try baseball and give the wiimote a little movement...the bat will follow ure motions close to 1:1). with the extra sensors it should be able to map alot more complicated movements to the model.

i think 1:1 will come more into its own next gen though. chances are the wii2 will have improved sensors as well as enough horsepower to reallly go crazy with it.

I'm just worried people are going to hype it up just to be disappointed that it wasn't what they thought it would it be. I really hope it works. I'm also doubting there will be Mario and Zelda games for Wii. I have this bad feeling they'll be moved to next gen.

It certainly has the greatest Nintendo hardware because it has motion sensing and the best graphics on a Nintendo sytem and could potentially run any SNES game or N64 or Gamecube or whatever. As for its game library, well there is still a few years for it.

Complete: All that I own except on for Zelda 2 and StarTropics on VC. I'm stuck at the final area for both. I also want to get the brutal Kid Icarus to see how far I can go and how long it will take. Super 100% Complete: Brawl is really close. All I need is about 10 stickers and to beat Intense Boss Battles. Got all 242 stars in Galaxy. Got all poes and other junk in TP. I should go about collecting those medal things in MP3.

I don't really see anything like that. I see a number of games that will likely be really good but they all seem rather niche-y whereas games like SSBB, SMG, TP, MP3, or MK are more mainstream.

I read some interview with Level-5. They said they wanted to release Professor Layton 3 and Dragon Quest 9 sometime in the fall in Japan. If this is true then maybe we'll see them same time next year maybe.

I'm just confused as to what motivates them not to bring certain things. Like I can understand Captain Rainbow or Tingle's Rupeeland but Soma Bringer or Mother 3, and why were Nintendo Wars, Fire Emblem, Custom Robo, etc. not brought over here until recently? On a related note, I like J-pop.

The third choice as in minimal changes. I really don't think big changes are possible for any series because when this happens you have a spinoff, not a main series game. I mean, what was so great about OOT? I think it's biggest thing was that it was the first 3D Zelda (also the reason I credit for why things like SM64 and SF64 are considered the best), but it did add some other things and I did like it. You're all just never happy. You act this way to seem cool, like you could do better or are better than the game. Are Halo 3, MGS4, GTA4, Soul Caliber IV big formula changers? I'm a Ninty guy so I don't know and I'm not saying these games are bad but I doubt they have ginormous changes. Geez, you perpetual complainers bother me so much! ZOMG! What am I trying to do, change the intarnats? I feel like I wasted my time. Oh, maybe I can use an old saying: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
