@jsprunk: I definitely admire your self control. I don't remember what it was like to not have an SSD, and honestly I don't wish to. The faster boot up alone was enough for me to splurge.

I'm gonna have to call BS on Reggie's reason for the nes classic shortage. Indie games and retro games have made a huge comeback the last ten or so years. If anything they are bigger than ever. If Nintendo really thought that older gamers would be the determining factor in how many units sold, then they are way more clueless about what their fans want than I thought, not to mention why so many of us love gaming. This crap has been happening for years now. Nintendo teases something, we all get excited, then Nintendo holds a press release and we are all dumbfounded on how quick Nintendo could butcher a great idea.

@girlusocrazy: I know what you mean man. I can't tell you how many times I "quit" Demon's and Dark Souls. I never even finished Demon's Souls until this passed November. When BB came out I was super TERRIBLE at it. I wasn't accustomed to the speed, and I was not used to the gun and no shield thing. I know you could get those wooden shields but those were terrible. I did however, LOVE BB. After reading your threads I'm kinda thinking I might go back through it. Oh, and Blighttown. Fucking Blighttown! lol. I haven't seen any vids from Epicnamebro's but I will check him out for sure. Anyway, good talking to ya man. Nothing I like more than talking Souls and BB. Happy Hunting bro!

@girlusocrazy: Yeah man, Dark Souls 3 bosses are nuts. Those transformations! I don't think I will ever forget those Abyss Watchers. I gotta say I think you have me convinced. I guess the nostalgia factor is getting to me because 2 is when I really started to understand a little more of what was going on where Demon's Souls and Dark Souls were totally over my head at the time. I more or less just played for the challenge. Dark Souls 2 on the other hand was what made me really fall in love with the lore so I started watching that youtuber vaatividya (who makes really good Dark Souls lore videos btw) and started studying quite literally. But man Dark Souls 3 was fucking fantastic. :-) That is funny that you said that though because I only played SotFS also. I never got the chance to play the regular version unfortunately but I would in a heart beat.

@girlusocrazy: You have some good points for sure. I did really appreciate the level design. Not just in 3 but in all of them. Dark Souls 3 took a lot from Bloodborne in ways that only made DS 3 better imo. The combat was just different enough to make it a little fresher while still retaining the challenge that Souls games are known for. As far ast he argument for Dark Souls 3 being game of the year is a total valid one for sure, and I am totally with you on that, but as far as my preferences go I can't shake the feeling that DS 2 left a little more of an impact on me. I know some people were a little disappointed with most of the enemies being "knight" type characters but man that game completely fascinated me.

@girlusocrazy: hahahaha! I love the enthusiasm! Dark Souls 3 was a FANTASTIC game, I am not sure though (not that I am saying it isn't, I may have to think about it a little more) that it's the best Dark Souls game let alone game of the year, but I did love it. Which leads to my question to you. What makes DS 3 game of the year for ya?

I mean absolutely NO disrespect to Overwatch or it's fans. In fact, it is really cool to see people that really enjoy this game, and I can totally tell people love it by the way they talk about Overwatch. No doubt Overwatch has made a HUGE impact on the industry. That said it, this is the first year that I know of where the "Game of the year" award is for a game I had no interest in at all. To make it even more weird I can't really think of a game that I enjoyed so much that I would consider game of the year. I loved Uncharted and always have but 4 didn't leave as big a mark as The Last of Us did for me. Battlefield 1 was awesome and I am still playing it pretty regularly but even then I don't get that "oh yeah, game of the year for sure" vibe. Titanfall 2 I haven't had the chance to try yet so maybe that could be the one. Dishonored 2 is definitely up there but again it wasn't a game I found myself thinking about a lot after finishing it. I just thought it was weird that I couldn't think of a game that just blew my mind this year. Maybe there was just so many games this year that they are all a bit of a blur for me. Anyone else feel the same? Again, I am not arguing that Overwatch is or isn't game of the year material. Just curious what my brother and sister gamers think.

@computernoises: hahaha! I know right! I'm getting more and more excited to play it. Amazon needs to hurry the hell up and deliver it to me, like right now!
