I agree that the thesis is a little too forward, so I changed it to something more realistic.  Thanks for the feedback.

Dimensional growth of games

After some recent inspiration of a Michio Kaku book "Hyperspace", I wanted to discuss the relationship between the dimensional sciences and video games. Video game development has been in process for 40 years now, and one thing remains true for all spectacles. Transitioning gameplay elements into the next dimension typically brings about a popular response.

The NES is agreed to be the home console that officially shifted video games into a main stream public product. One of it's biggest accomplishments is it's ability to smoothly scroll 2 dimensional environments. While some games attempted to emulate the third dimension, video games where typically defined as actions occurring on a 2 dimensional plane. Soon afterward, new gaming systems like the SNES and Sega Genisis made graphical improvements in the 2D realm. Humans, however, have always been aware of a higher spatial dimension; and it's inclusion in video games would be a sight to behold.

The next big step that progressed video game industry was the introduction of 3 dimensional gaming. Sony's Playstation and 3D Accelerator's for computers gave a revolutionary new look to video games. When the Nintendo 64 was released, it's controller gave users a better advantage in guiding players through the third dimension by implementing the analog joystick.

Since then further consoles have only developed games into a more polished look. Developers are "stuck" in the 3rd Dimension because the existence of a 4th spatial dimension is unknown. Seeing how video games no longer take the next graphical step in dimensions, developers have recently been applying dimensional manipulation in gameplay methods.

Check back later for part 2 where I discuss games beyond the 3rd dimension.
