[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"] You spend 90% of the game shooting in the third person....i5750at4Ghz
no you can stealth too, and platforming, and the fact that every site classifies it as an action adv
Never said you couldn't do those things, doesn't change the fact the vast majority of the game is spent shooting in the third person. Now you're going to tell me gears of wars is a sci fi survival game.So let me guess you think Zelda is a hack and slash because you use your sword 90% of the time right.

Offline multiplayer is dying dude move on.

Maybe for core gaming. Things like Wii Sports and Dance Central say otherwise though.
No way is it dying, as long as people have friends it'll never die :? People say this gen was crap for it, but bar the odd disappointment like Burnout Paradise, there's plenty of split screen games.Well it isn't dying but, it will never be as great as it was in the 90s.
On-line multiplayer allows one to play with someone when ever they what.
Whether it's with a friend or a stranger but, with offline multiplayer you had to wait till the weekend to gather your friends.
Plus with WiiU they can use the camera to show off your friends reaction when you beat him in Smash Bros.
Look at Star Fox 64 3DS, thats a perfect example.

[QUOTE="tomarlyn"]Oh come on. It is not beyond reason for a console to support more than one default controller, it is the norm. What you are exaggerating is well beyond logical reasoning.

Do you know exactly how the Wii U works? You don't even know the restrictions with this kind of hardware because it's not been done before...
With your logic we should be able to make flying cars because we already have airplanes and we already have cars.
You may be right, and it may not be feasible with the technology we have to create a console that can support 4 tablets. However, that should have been a sign for Nintendo explore other paths, not just go with the idea anyway and hope everyone will be satisfied with one controller.
Offline multiplayer is dying dude move on.
[QUOTE="Inconsistency"][QUOTE="Qwark-PS-Snake"]Let me play on normal controller and I buy. Bread_or_DecideIt is a normal controller, it's just a bit on the big side and has a screen. People bashed the PS3 boomerang but this is ok? Wow.
The PS3 boomerang wasn't wide, it was actually tiny in size.
I can't help but feel by trying hard to please everyone, they have missed the mark. One thing casuals loved about the wii was its simplicity, games like wii sports are hugely accessible. I feel they have made the new controller far more complicated than the wiimote, a standard controller with a touchscreen, accelerometer, cameras and the ability to use a wiimote with it, isn't something I think the mums and old people will easily be able to grasp.APiranhaAteMyVa
I think people are missing the point.
Nintendo is trying to slowly convert some of the casual gamers, into core gamers.
Increasing their fan base.
And in the process their also converting some of the non gamers into casual gamers.
The whole point was to get people interested in simple games and controllers, then when they get bored,
give them something a bit more complex.
It has to be Super Mario 64.
But when you think about it.
It would suck to walk around the castle for days, not knowing what the hell to do again.
Do you believe the wii-mote could be put to better use if applied to a more hi-tech system? Or if high rank developers did more work for it?
What I mean is that when I saw the trailer for the wii-mote for the first time a lot of ideas ran through my head , but I am slightly disappointed with it. I was hoping for more of a better experience with it, but I still enjoy my wii(I got alot of great games for it:D). I was just wondering what you guys think, were my idea of there being mind blowing games still possible or was it all hype.
This is a really good article, about why most 3rd party "Casual" games on the Wii aren't selling, and also about Nintendo's long term plans.
It would seem that the Wii will not be a fad and that Sony and Microsoft should be more worried than they are... Who knows what the future will bring though...
What do you think of the article?
