GTA iV: What I miss from past GTA's

So playing the new GTA I found small little things that Rockstar left out that in previous versions were there. After scanning through google, I found others who feel the same as I do. The argument against this is that Rockstar wanted the player to have a more intimate experience with the character. Others say that these small little things is what it is, small. I disagree with both of these claims because when it comes to the GTA series once I get detailed small things, I expect that exact same thing and even more. Anyways, here is my list of stuff that I had before that Rockstar has now taken. And remember little things add up.

1. Planes - greatly watered down from SA. i wanna jump out of a jumbo plane and parachute to a roof.

2. Swimming - Listen, it's not that I ever cared about swimming under water in SA, but go forward with it, not backwards. make it more exciting. Like Submarines, a guy at the floor with his feet dried up in cement. Does anyone remember a Bond, or Tomb Raider movie that had those hand held jets. HOW COOL WOULD THAT BE. Big let down.

3. Car Customizing - Here is the "once you introduce it to me, don't take it away". I know Niko is not a gangster, but are you telling me nobody in NY Customize their cars. I want NITRO! Yes on everything.

4. The stupid Forklift - i know. I just wish I could lift the fork up so i can ram it into anything higher than a snail.

5. Helicopter Missiles - For those hard to reach spots

That's all so far. I am enjoying the story, it's just all of these small things have me writing this and wondering if anyone else have seen other things left out, or if I am wrong about all of this. I have not finished the game as of me writing this. But I am half way through.

cool feature on the PS3

So this is not new i'm sure, but I really hate when my controller's battery dies because I then have to use the short cable to connect and charge. The set up I have forces me to get a chair and sit as far as the cable will let me, three feet from the 46'. (SUCKS).

So I thought about a way to charge my controller so I A. don't have to keep my system running while charging and B. continue to play while charging (only not three feet away from the TV.

So I had my laptop in front of me and put two and two together. SWEEEEEEEET!

Not only can i charge on my Mac, but I can play at the same time. I also liked that PS3 will still see the controller and can display the charging window.

I love this S#$.

New Devil May Cry Same Old Feeling

Maybe its just me, but I played the Demo for the latest DMC and I have to say that I was not blown away. Although the double jump changed, I just can't justify buying a game that brings only upgraded GFX to the table. Within a few minutes of the game, I found myself running around breaking stuff for colored orbs (GOW). I just feel like once you've played one, you've played them all. Am I going crazy?

Looking for COD4 PS3 players

So I never really played any of the COD series or medal of honor because to me, it was all the same linear BS. But after seeing the ratings COD 4 was getting I broke down and bought it. Two words: Totally addicted!
Anyway, i'm just looking to increase the friend list of people who play. I'm getting tired of always playing with random and often crazy players. My Id is germatron1.

10 Year Shelf Life Sony? Please...

I just picked up a PS3 and am enjoying what little games that I can enjoy at the ,moment. Gamespot put out an article with Sony saying the life span of their consoles are 10 years. This explains why they are not hurt by the low sales this past year.

This statement really troubled me, because of all the Crap people talk about Sony, this is the point that hurts them the most. The reason is because of Moore's Law which states the progression of technology and how fast it grows over time (google it). The original Playstation did in fact have a 10 year life span. The PS2 is different. I don't see the PS2 being around in the year 2011. If Sony looked at this seriously, they should be worried about what kind of life span the PS3 will really have.

The other point Sony makes is that the cell processor has not even been tapped yet. Well, this is true, however by the time developers actually get to that point the next Xbox and Nintendo will have already been out.

Anybody else feel the same or completely disagree?

Steve Jobs and MAC taking on the game industry

It seems like just yesterday I was parading around talking about how XBOX was going nowhere and how Bill Gates should stay away from the industry. I think a lot of gamers felt the same to a degree and are probably not even thinking twice about it now (because we are all too busy playing an XBOX right now).

So now that mac has been shipping with Intel, it's no secret that Jobs wants to join in on the madness. I have played a few games on my Mac and have honestly enjoyed them. Although Mac has it's flaws, I think it's popping up quicker than the gaming community thinks. I know Jobs is enjoying the success that Mac has had and bringing Macs to the gaming world is the next logical step, but I'm still holding out to see what stupid format is going to win out (Blu-ray or HD DVD). Until things pan out in the format war, I don't think I'm ready to become full time Mac gamer.

Imagine having to decide which gaming instrument you want, MAC, PC, Sony, Microsoft, or Nintendo. My head hurts. And don't even get the developers involved. I am a believer in spending more time on making a game better than spending it on making sure the game will play on 10 different platforms. It seems jobs has pretty much claimed victory over the Microsoft PC world, but the gaming industry will be another thing. Jobs can't simply show a commercial where four guys are in a white room stating: Hi, I am an Xbox, and I'm a PS3, I'm a Wii, and I'm a Mac. And then proceed to make jabs as to why Mac is better. He will have to grow up and move out of his parents Ilife to play with these big guys. No more pointing and laughing at competition because at this point in Apples success, it will only be looked at as arrogant.

If it's one thing that gets to me now more than anything it's the smug Apple people. I thought the whole fanboy thing was bad with Sony and Xbox players, but the last thing I want hear is an arrogant apple user talking about how much his  $1 Billion Mac play's Halo 10 better because it has an Ipod in it and by the way it's the U2 edition. It just seems to me like this could get out of hand real quick.

As much as I love to hate on the top dog, I am writing this very post on a Mac. So what a let down to finish off this post. Listen, all I really want is for Gates, Jobs, PS3 president, and Nintendo president to settle this whole craziness the way all gamers want... a gladiator arena and a fight to the death. Then, I would pay the stupid prices for the winner's hardware

Halo 3, Don't believe the Hype

I can't go anywhere without seeing an ad for Halo 3. Gamespot is so far up Master Chief's... gun that they can't see Halo 3 for what it truly is. The third installment is way to over rated. The original was such a great breakthrough in the gaming world, but hasn't blown gamers away like Bioshock, Heavenly Sword, Gears of war, and the wii system. These are the games that deserve the true glory because it's taking what we have all already played and going far and beyond what we expect.
So what did I expect from Halo 3? Simple. Better graphics, better story, more weapons, and improved multi player. And guess what, that's EXACTLY what I got. Now, nothing is wrong with this, it's just that Bungie didn't go beyond what I expected and thus not stacking up to what other next-gen games are doing. The attention it's getting is like this game is going to change my life forever. Not even close.
Let me use a good example of this. The first time I played God of War, I was blown away. I then played the sequel and was completely disappointed because it was the same thing. I oddly felt this way with Halo 2. Maybe it's just the first person shooter becoming the same crap over and over.

I give Bioshock the gold in the FPS this last year. At least those guys are able to push the FPS instead of making an armor suit that I almost never see look more detailed.

Hey BIll Gates, your KILLING ME!

My Sisters Husband is a Die Hard Madden player. We are both PS players not because we are fanboys, but because of backwards compatibility and more importantly reliability. The 360 really impressed me, so I recommended him to get one for the new Madden. He is the type of player who will not buy the first, second, or even third generation of a system. He likes to wait for all the kinks to be worked out.

So after E3 he went out and picked up an Xbox 360. I was of course jealous and again went to my dark place. I get a call a week later from my sister and she immodestly tells me to NOT BUY AN 360. 10 min after he set it up he got the red light of death. He tried everything without any success. He then asked around to friends with Xbox 360's and EVER SINGLE PERSON had gone through at least 1 bad system with the red light.
So we all know about Microsofts extended warranty, but why ship it and wait for another broken box when you can just but a PS3 once with newer technology for a Little more money. I love the game lineup for the 360 but Bill Gates, your killing me.

Best game ever Featuring Barry Bonds

I came up with an awesome idea for a future game that would combine two different game categories. The title is called SuperSize.

The player will choose between Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Pac-man Jones, ect..

Then you start out as young version of them. Your in a city and is very, very, very, similar to GTA series. It will be a third person and the point will be to hustle steroids so that you will become successful at your sport. You must do side missions and do a lot of dirty work at first, but as you progress it becomes easier to acquire the Roids and get better drugs like HGH (human growth Hormone). At the same time you must keep all of this hidden from the public and Media eye.

The playable characters will get older so you are racing the clock to get the ultimate prize ( Super bowl ring, respect, and hall of fame).

So grab your glock and practice your needlework, cause your going to get, Supersized!!!!!!!!!!
