renege on Dec07 post

Hmm... Reread my Dec07 post about the wii and realized I am totally wrong. Only play the wii with my son now... Mario Kart turned out to be a great game, but SSBB was broken due to Nintendo's crappy friend and online system.

Not buying Wanted

After listening to Mr. Wanat's soap box about his own game (HotSpot Podcast 02/10/2009), I will not be buying Wanted. No true counter-strike fan would want to buy "curved bullets." Everybody would buy them each round taking away alot of skill advantage. Then adding enemies that can dodge your curved bullets sounds like a cop-out or tack on. Why would you make this "cool new feature" and then make enemies that can get past that? How about working on an AI that can out flank you or something instead. Finally, I think that single player games are nearing obsolescence. Now a days a game should be based around the multiplayer experience with the single player coming secondary. Neither FEAR nor Fallout will ever get the playtime or cash flow like WoW or CS or SC:BW.

The Wii

I play my Wii nearly everyday. I log on and I look at the "Check Mii Out" channel and the "Everybody Votes Channel". Those items in themselves keep me coming back to the wii. In fact, I don't know that I would play the wii at all if it wasn't online.

I think that once SSBB comes out that a lot of "hardcore" gamers are going to want a wii. Next comes Mario Kart Wii and then after that will be animal crossing. Nintendo is only bound to grow.

I've always stuck with the nintendo and I feel my game playing time has been well spent. Whenever I play the nintendo it is with friends and family, not alone in a dark room.
