If you have the $ and know you will enjoy the games, why not?

But I have to agree that spending $400 is a steep initial cost just for 2-3 games...I usually wait until the system has a good handfull of old cheap hits and a bunch of new good games.

SteezyZ

do you think the ps3 is at that stage? what are old cheap hits I could pick up?

TC, If you like LBP and Valkyria Chronicles then buy the PS3. If you have the money then why not? If you think the games are enjoyable then go for it. Contrary to popular SW belief there is nothing wrong with buying a system for 1 or 2 games. Its your money spend it as u see fit. And I luv how people always say "nah man, just buy X games for your current console." What if I dont want X games? Should u just go out and buy 5 X360 games you wont enjoy simply because its cheaper than a PS3? The way I see it, owning all consoles is the way to go....(well owning PS3/X360....im sorta regretting my Wii :( )II_Seraphim_II

I haven't had the chance to play either of them...but from the reviews they seem cool!

[QUOTE="junkanoo999"]Really? Everybody always says a certain game is a "system seller" - I bought the Xbox360 pretty much exclusively for Gears of War.Pinkyimp

yeah..but meh..

with that money you could already get.

Gears2, Fallout 3 CE, Rock Band 2, Dead space, L4D, Mirrors edge, and many preorders later..

imo, thats much more worth it than a PS3.

I have Fallout3, Dead Space and L4D. Gears2 I will play through with a friend co-op style at his place as he is picking it up tomorrow for the microsoft employee price of $25...

I figure with God of War coming out it might be. I will borrow MGS4 from a friend so I will get to play through it.

Soooo,

Here I am, a happy Xbox360 owner of about a year, and I find that I haven't even turned the damn thing on in around 3 months. I've been gaming on my computer lately, playing Company of Heroes and DOTA, but the recent good reviews for PS3 exclusive games has caught my eye. I had a birthday this month and therefore have around $600 to drop on whatever I damn well please. I've already pre-ordered Left4Dead on the PC (I'm not a big fan of FPS with a console controller) but now I'm not sure what to do with the extra cash.

Valkyria Chronicles REALLY looks like a game that is up my alley - I absolutely love FF Tactics and the like, and I really enjoyed MGS:1 and MGS:2, never got around to playing the third. Little Big Planet seems cool as well. Are these three games worth the purchase of a $400 PS3? What do you think?

Thanks!
