How important is the exterior of a console?

With E3 coming up I've been rapidly trying to keep up with the ever evolving news of this industry. The last week has been filled with nothing but predictions, previews, and trailers just fueling the hype train to E3. As most of you know Sony plans to unveil what the actual exterior looks like for the upcoming PS4 at their conference. They released a trailer on the play station blog a few weeks ago teasing the box's appearance. If you haven't already seen it the link is provided. http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/05/20/see-it-first-june-10th/ Let's not forget the negative feedback that surrounded the X-box ones' appearance. People took the the forums and brought their anger with them, simply because this piece of plastic wasn't "pretty" enough for them. Maybe I don't see eye to eye with some people, maybe I'm weird; Point is I could care less what the console looks like. I'm interested in the games, the hardware, the features, the cost etc... Some of the most successful gaming platforms off all time have been absolutely hideous. Why? because who cares? Sure it's fun to speculate but I'm not gonna buy it to look at it. Personally I could get a mound of feces with a Blu-ray drive in it, but if it brings great gaming experiences along with it's disgusting appearance so be it. My question to you is how much do you REALLY care about the appearance of the consoles. Is it enough to convince you to purchase it? Let me know!
