Hi,

I have an AMD 3800 dual core and wondered how to go about overclocking it. I have the stock fan that came with the processor, is that sufficient or should I upgrade the fan and heatsink?

Is there any specific software that I should be using to overclock and how should I go about it without damaging the cpu? :)

 Cheers,

 Justin

Hey All,

Just installed Vista (id been running a crack of XP for ages and it was time to buy legit, so I went for Vista) anyways, I foolishly partitioned my 300gb drive, 100gb for software installs and the other 200gb for data (web design work, 3D work, mods etc) then I have my 160gb Lacie for Music and Movies.

So after installing everything from Maya and Photoshop to Flight Sim X and Oblivion ive only got 20gb left on the 100gb partition. After putting on Crysis, Age of Conan and Shadows of Angmar im gonna be pushing it! Obviously Id really really like to not have to start from scratch and format the whole damn lot to give more room to my system drive, but I guess if thats what ive gotta do then ill just have to do it. So I was wondering what my options are:

1) Shot in the dark here, can I extend my system partition by reclaiming space from the other without screwing everything up?

2) If Ive gotta reformat would it be better to say have 50gb for vista then put the other stuff on the rest? or allow 100gb for data and 200gb for programs?

3) Get another internal drive at say 160gb to give me more room to install programs on without having to mess with my current setup?

Any advise would be appreciated..

Thx,

Justin

Hi All,

I was wondering whether I should upgrade my processor yet or not. My current setup is:

AMD 3800 Dual Core
Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe AM2 Motherboard
3GB Geil Ram
Asus 8800GTX

Ive got a little spare cash floating about and wondered if its worth upgrading my processor as it seems to be the 'weakest link' in my setup. Im not going to be able to afford to do this after I start college in the summer so wondered if its worth doing now?
I dont think i can afford a quadcore setup, so was wondering if its worth the hassle and money to upgrade to say an AMD 5000 dual core? or should I be looking at intel? (would need to switch motherboard then too)

Thanks,

Justin
