I am currently in the market for a new HDTV. I currently own a 61" Samsung DLP 1080p and a 46" Mitsubishi LCD 1080p TV. I am trying to replace the 46" LCD, because the power supply sounds like a cricket chirping (When screen goes from dark to light or vice-versa it is extremely noticable). Here are the choices I've been able to narrow down to:
Pioneer PDP-5010FD (Pioneer 50" 1080p Plasma)
Sony KDL52XBR4 (Sony 52" 1080p LCD w/ 120 Hz)
Samsung LN-T5281F (Samsung 52" 1080p LCD w/ LED)
If anyone one owns one or more of the following TVs, can you tell me what if any issues you've had with them, and if able to do a comparison, which one did you feel had the better overall performance. I've looked at reviews and customer ratings on many sites and I can't get a good feel on how they stack up against one another. The price isn't too much of a concern, I'm more interested in the picture quality. It will be mainly used for Gaming and HD Movies. I have a PS3, Xbox 360 Elite, Wii, and an HD-A20 HDDVD player. So if you notice anything game related...lag, blurring please indicate that also.
Yea, I think this is like my second post ever, but I was just wanting to chime in on the debate. The only reason I have ever been disappointed with PC gaming is due to the fact of system variance. Every 360, PS3, or Wii should operate fairly similarly to one another, but it's just not that simple with the PC.
One event in which I was going on a long trip to visit some family down in Louisiana, I was asked to bring some games down with me to play. I packed up a few PC and 360 games to play down there. Obviously we enjoyed the heck out of the 360 games, having the same experience that I would have had anywhere. When we got to the PC games we encountered problems with his system specs and just flat out couldn't play a good portion of the games. Since the hardcore PC market doesn't seem to be as widespread as the console market, it's a little more difficult to get the same experience out of your games on other people's PCs whereas it's not the case with consoles. (Granted it could just be my particular situation)
Alright, my first post on this forum. I'm going to try and get the opinions in my head to come out somewhat coherently in this post. If as stated this System Wars is a forum for PS3 vs. Xbox 360 vs. Wii vs. PC vs...... then then we need to draw clear and defined lines.
You can't use the argument that my PS3 is better than your Xbox 360 because I also own a gaming PC. That makes no sense.... PS3 + PC > Xbox 360. All you would need to say is my gaming PC is better than your Xbox 360. I think this is the point lemmings try to make: The use of System A to justify why System B is better than System C is stupid. Time after time I basically see the same arguments that certain combinations of systems provide more entertainment than ONE other system, OF COURSE THEY DO!!! Is the 360 inferior to the PC, or the PS3, or the Wii.....it's personal preference nothing is going to ever be written in stone to prove you right or wrong in your beliefs.
I guess my point in the exclusive argument is that fully multi-plat games affect nobody more than the other, but games that are multi-plat while excluding a major competitor do offer advantages to the systems they are appearing on. Does the 360 lose sales to the PC? Sure. Do PC Hardware (CPU's, GPU's that some people would need) salestake a hit due toa game being on 360? Absolutely. Is there a way to determine which side takes the bigger hit? Nope, so stop arguing about it.
