what does every new consol need??? A launch title. what will that title be??? probably a new halo.

itmightnot be called halo 4, but it will be a sequal. they wont stop making halo becuase theres just to much money to be made

Yeah, it's true that they need a launch title (DURRRR). That doesn't mean that Microsoft should come crawling back to Master Chief every time they pump out a new console. Halo 3 was all that was necessary. The Halo series made it's mark, but as you may know there aren't any more Halos, they all blew up. That's what the game was about. Halo 4 would be overkill. I'm really excited for the ODST, but to negate your comment, no... there should not be another Halo sequel.

you make it sound like HALO is a movie series than gaming entertainment. why should micro$oft stop making a game that poeple still buy and enjoy just because of a HALO storyline you want to end. HALO multiplayer has been in the top 5 xbox live most played games since its been out. why end it for no reason.

There is a perfectly good reason for it. I used to be on your side, trust me, but it went from being just one, to a second (I was stoked I waited outside my local EB for approximately12 hours for it's midnight release). 3rd one rolls around and it was pretty good, I enjoyed it while it lasted, I just don't want my beloved Halos to become that game in the schoolyard that gets pantsed and ends up being the game that all the other games point andlaugh at. I'll aslo point out that the driving force for the quick pump out of the other Halos was Microsoft, and while Bungee was formerly was a part of Microsoft and continues to make games for them, they broke free and now can actually make games forSony if they wanted. so if you do see a new Halo keep in mind it probably WON'T be Xbox exclusive because it would sell much better on two platforms than just one

The Halo games are just being made into something there not. Nobody ever said, and really has no reason to say, that the games are bad. Halo wasn't great.....Halo 2 got better......Halo 3 was on the top.........but that doesn't mean they should stop making the games. Its not a dead horse that someone should just throw into a hole and forget about. There is certainly way too much money to be made off this game, and I'd truly be shocked if they let it go to waste. Bringing back marathon would just be a bad idea. You can't remake a game THAT OLD on a next gen system. There isn't much to make new, you don't know what your person looks like, and you'd have to bring in all sorts of new people, it wouldn't make any sense at all.

In my opinion. Continue on with the Halo games, if you don't like it....then don't worry about it.

Dude, where do you get your crack? Halo wasn't that great? I assume that's why it was the most critically acclaimed game on the Xbox not to mention in the series. The lack of online was fixed for the PC version. The campaigns got less and less imaginative as time wore on. What the hell will their next story be? More Halos? Maybe the flood will keep coming back. Oh, or maybethey could just add some new aliens, seeing as your opponents only changed slightly from one game to the next. Trust me a fourthHalo will take away any respect I have for Bungee (which trust me, they're one of my favorite studios). What else do you do with a dead horse? Try to ride it aroundsome more? No... you leave it in a hole and cover it with dirt. I don't understand your logic, sir. Marathon is an entirely feasible remake, it was an imaginitive shooter in it's time it would get "GRAPHICAL UPDATES" and probably even some new technology behind it. Halo has been losing alot of it's fanbase for years now, myself I love the other games, 3 of my favorites, and I'm not saying put it on ice for good, but I'm sure the good men and women at Bungee would be perfectly fine moving on to something new. And seeing as before Halo 2 they expressed not wanting to make another halo for a while and moving on. Didn't happen, the corporation behind them had some real power. However I do believe they have broken free and can do whatever the hell they want. They could even make a pony simulator, doubtful, but they could.

All in all as a kid I must've put 200 - 300+ hours into the Pokemon games... probably 120 or more into Pokemon Sapphire.

I'm pretty sure this will be the fabled Fallout MMORPG. This game was proposed in 2006 by Interplay, but Interplay went under, which is why Bethesda even HAD the rights to fallout in the first place. However the rights to the game were filed in 2006 before Bethesda bought the rights. Obsidian Entertain IS an offshoot of Interplay, It will therefore most likely be third person, as the first two Fallouts were. Not to mention online.

JayQproductions

gamespot JUST had a story maybe a week ago about how Bethesda pulled the plug on the MMORPG so no, new vegas prolly wont be it and new vegas will most likely look and play exactly like fallout 3 because Bethesda still owns the rights to the fallout name so if they dont like what obsidian comes up with it will never be released and if bethesda wanted fallout 3 to have the "birds eye view" of the originals they would have made it that way

Personally, I think you've been fooled. All of Black Isle studios founding officers now run Obsidian, I don't feel as though they would throw away their long fought MMO. The article you referenced simply stated intent to pull the plug and they refused to elaborate as they were "legal matters". So I'm pretty sure Bethesda's announcement that Obsidian would be working on the project justifies my previous statements. As you already know Bethesda is famous for their first person view, whereas Interplay (specifically Black Isle which Obsidian is an offshoot of) was popular for their birds eye third person games such as the first 2 Fallouts along with the Icewind Dale, and Baldur's Gate series'. Obviously Obsidian Entertainment are creatures of habit,(as every single game these people have been involved with has been totally third person) this leads me to believe that you are in fact wrong in your assumption that Bethesda is the all powerful king of the Fallout series, and that Bethesda would actually GIVE their blessed gamebryo engine to the people who obviously defeated them in court, so that they can in turn make money from it. And since Bethesda has already announced Obsidian games' involvement with the intellectual property of Fallout, they will have no say in the matter of whether or not it "will never be released".

When the game comes out don't judge it as totally different

Microsoft has been trying to ride around on Halo's coattails for about 8 years now, I think they need a new flagship title. Halo had it's run and I'll be the first to say that I loved it, but you can only stretch it so far.

I'm holding out for "great". The graphics look nice, hopefully they can pull off the unpredictable nature of MMA.
