[QUOTE="d_originaldappa"] So recently there was all this fuss about mass effect and it's "sex scene" which was obviously over exaggerated. But you still don't want that content in the hands of a ten year old. A lot of people have mixed views on games being sold to under aged kids. Some say it isn't an issue or it's too high for comfort.
At the end of the day, no matter what the cause these games shouldn't be in the hands of children. This would decrease the amount of ten year olds screaming in your ear while playing halo online. It's evident that five year olds don't buy games from stores but their parents or siblings let them play these games. Even where I live , in the caribean, I could walk into an Internet cafe and see an eight year old playing GTA 4. Are we being irresponsible and allowing those kids to play these games?
What impact does it have overall? I'm not stupid, games doesn't cause violence, there's a lot of thing in society that contributes to it.
What do you think, is this dangerous. Do you watch the rating before letting the kid play with you, or do you let them play everything.

To sum it all up....
Any parent that lets their kid(s) play any game or watch any movie without checking the rating or experiencing the game/movie beforehand....well, they're retards.
Guess my parents are retards... they never look at the ratings of games I buy(they really do act like it sometimes...)
I do have to dissagree with what was said about games not causing violence. Although it may not be direct, games do cause quite a bit of violence. They have a subconcious(did I spell that right?) effect on kids who's brains are still developing. It causes them to think more violently then they normally would. Kids really shouldnt be playing these games(myself included, I generally avoid games like halo, cod, gta and whatnot, even if they are fun). Sadly there isnt much we can do about it short of having the police run searches of everyone the buyer is associated with to see if the game might be for a child. The best we can do is discourage it.
