The weekend of balance.

Well people, this next weekend is going to be interesting. for one thing, I'm going to miss An Anime conference in Edmonton:cry:. I also will not be at my computer in two days:x and I'm going to miss all of my Internet friends very much. On the bright side, instead of going to an anime con in Edmonton, I'm going camping with a bunch of my friends from real life. I will also be spending a couple of hours at the West Edmonton mall, which has some real awesome arcades. Still, I really wanted to go the anime con... I will see how things balance out.

Oh, If you happen to be by the Inuyasha union boards, hurt Kagome in the Inuyasha hurt/heal battle.

Racing games, does realistic mean better?

YEHAAAAAAA!
I'm a level 3 tapper, which means I can mess Around with Font sizes stuff!

Okay, enough with the celebrations, and down to business. I love racing games. I really, honestly love them. I like things fast in life. That's probably one reason I play racing games. The rush of going faster than anyone.

But there is a war between all racers that rages on as we speak.
Realistic, and non-realistic. And considering there called Karo's War logs, I must document it.

Realistic
I have a friend who insists on reality in all his games, not just his racers. "I want to feel like I really am driving the car, and the realistic graphics, sound effects, and vehicle are all part of that."
My friend's favorite game on the Xbox is Project Gotham Racing, hands down. He also enjoys the Need for Speed games. "I don't want to be racing in a place that I never could actually be. But the Games do get boring having the same cars, the same locales, everything almost the same."
Let's review pros and cons.
Pros: You get a more realistic experience, which gives you a much better fell of immersion in the game.
Cons: You will get the same thing over, and over again.

Non-realistic
I also have a friend that loves games that are totally unrealistic. "I want to escape from the hustle and bustle of life, and this does that way better than something realistic."

She likes games like Mario Kart, Crash Team Racing, and other such games. "I don't think that Realistic games are much good, because you feel that you actually have to be good in real life to play them. Here it's okay to play as a fat Italian Plumber! These games are a little to easy at times though."

Pros: Less realistic graphics and such allows you to enjoy the game for what it is, Fun!
Cons: Easy races and short games mean that there will not be as great a sense of accomplishment if you beat the game.

So, in the end there is really no winner, so you have to decide for yourself. My two recommendations are:
For realism, go for Burnout Three: Take down. This game is realistic enough that you won't be dissappointed with a lack of eye-candy, but zany enough that it has awesome replay value.
For those who think outside the box, there is F-Zero GX. This game has Zany races, racers, and tracks to keep you happy, and the hard difficulty setting and unlockables system, you will feel awesome after you beat it. until next time...

Who was your first Street Fighter?

I'm sure that all of us at one point or another finally bit the bullet and played Street fighter in an arcade. If you haven't, you better have a good excuse, because it is possibly the best arcade game series of all time. I remember walking up to a terminal so long ago, I popped in a quarter. I saw a small list of characters, (This was The Street Fighter II edition) after beating around the bush, I decided on Vega. I got wiped spectacularly, but I had the time of my life doing it.
Over the years I've tried a couple other fighters I liked Chun-Li, but was never much good as her. Same with Cammy.
And Ken.
And Ryu.
And Dudley.
And M.Bison.
And Sagat.
At current moment, my favorite fighter is Blanka. And I'm sure that it'll change again eventually. But at the current moment, you can't beat angry, green, rolling, high voltage, mutated freaks in my books.
