Valve sent me emails for years and I had some older games on their platform. I have the same address and the names of games I bought. I even have the game CDs and their codes that were locked to my account. They would not send me a password reset to the same email I have used for years. They can steal your games on a whim.

I now use EPIC for PC games, don't trust Steam !

I have a Steam account and kept receiving emails constantly for several years. My gaming computer died and I had the username, password and password confirmed because I could log in and request the user name, etc. I got a new gaming computer.

But they would not reactivate my account, they even asked me for the codes from the games CDs that I still have and provided to them. I understand protecting the account but if you forget what credit card you used, forget it. They still have my address, I have not moved.
