Same thing happens to me. When I have the Wii output in 480p it looks a lot softer than 480i, so I keep it in 480i. It has to do with the way the TV processes the signal. I have a Panasonic plasma and apparently it is common for 480p to look weaker than 480i on these. Since you're using component cables the much improved colour reproduction is still there, therefore it shouldn't be an issue to run in 480i if it looks sharper.

open the flap in front of the wii, there should be a red sync button, now open the battery compartments of your wii remotes, you should also see a red button in each controller. turn the wii on, then press the red button on the wii, followed by the red buttons on the controllers. this should sync them up and all should be working fine again.
DO NOT TRUST THIS REVIEW!
The game is nowhere near as bad as this review makes it out to be! I have had the game for 2 days now and I'm pretty impressed with it.
Firstly, the controls aren't bad, actually they're quite the opposite - comparable to MOH:Heroes 2. Once you spend the time to set them up to your tastes there's no issue at all. The 3rd person duck and cover works very well and I've never had any issues with it.
In terms of the enemies being difficult to spot I would say this is not because of bad graphics but because some of the environments are very detailed which makes it more difficult.
A lot of the problems mentioned in this review are exaggerated. Yes there are some blurry textures but only when you're up close against a wall or something. The explosion effects are a bit hit and miss but there is some good stuff going on there and I actually though the flame effects looked nice. The graphics and animation are good, much better than Red Steel. The only negative is that the framerate drops once in a while. Also, I have never experienced the issues they mention about radio conversations.
In terms of the AI it's definitely the best I've seen on the Wii, much better than Red Steel and MOH:Heroes 2, it actually feels like the enemy is trying to outsmart you.
The review doesn't even metion multiplayer, where the online experience is very smooth. Although I haven't been in a game with more than 4 players yet, I guess because it's early days. Also the Facility level from Goldeneye looks amazing.
If you want to know how this game plays try the PC demo, it's pretty much identical but this game is definitely not a 54% game. I would say minumum 70% if you're being harsh. The fact is that there aren't many games like this on the Wii and this is one of the best of its kind.
