I got the pc in my sig for roughly $1,400 so you pretty much over paid a lot..anyway, don't get vista unless you just want DX10 or the new feel of the vista interface. Other than that, reformat it and install xp sp2 :)
I liked company of heroes because it had the same feel as dawn of war (duh..) hehe
My top picks would be: 1. Dawn of war + expansions 2. SupCom - if you don't like ass battles, this isn't for you.3. CNC3 - so so.. not so good4. Rome: Total War - I liked it when it first came out5. Medieval: Total War - nice solid game6. Star Wars Empire at War - I'm a starwars fan
