60 usd is crazy for any game. and DLC not being free is outrageous. No wonder low cost apps and free to play games are doing well. It's because many aren't willing to pay 60 usd for (most of the time) a half finished game loaded with overpriced dlc and subscriptions.
This law will do nothing, adults will still be able to buy these games because they're old enough and children will still ask their parents to buy these games, and the parents will still say yes because the children cant buy it themselves. When I was a non-gamer I was frequently bullied in school. I was just not assertive at the time. Once I became a gamer I became more assertive and kids stopped bullying me. Sometimes you just need to step back and see the good gaming has done along with the bad.
First of all, I must say I liked this article, very well written. Aside from that, I must say that I cannot afford every game new, it is just out of my budget. If the price of games was 10 bucks cheaper, I could afford 15-20% more games. Also, most people do not have the money to buy average rated games new. This give them a choice: Buy used and possibly realize you like the series and buy a sequel new or don't buy at all because it's too pricey.
Do I think devs must be happy to create a good game? Yes. Naturally they would care more about doing a good job creating a game instead of fearing how they could lose their jobs.
Kingdom hearts had a great soundtrack. In the end of Kingdom Hearts (after you defeat the final boss) The music (Combined with the emotional ending) pushed me "lump in my throat" to Sobbing. Music narrates the mood the game sets. I do love a great video game soundtrack.
