[QUOTE="keytheway"]Really Super Mario 3 introduced power ups!! No way! Spare me this garbage. I want to say this now before I begin. Super Mario Galaxy is not a bad game. The graphics are mediocre and the gameplay is more fitting for a younger age. But, nonetheless a good game. That does not mean that there are games out there that tear it apart limb from limb. Does the God of War series not introduce a unique story with top notch gameplay only known to exist within the God of War series? Yes, it certainly does. A game does not need to bring in anything new to be unique in it's own way and still kick ass. Are you kidding me gravity has always been in games. You jump and you stay down, how does that happen!? Look at Bioshock for example a game worthy of game of the year. It didn't exactly bring anything new to the table, but gasp! People still like it!? A mario game? Come on grow up. Open your eyes and look around, you'll find your favourite plumber left behind.shoryuken_

I didn't say Super Mario 3 introduced power-ups, I said it introduced it to the Mario series. I was trying to demonstrate that every game in the franchise has innovated a huge amount and is not the same thing over and over again; but it seems like you missed that point.

Mediocre graphics? You are pretty much insulting everything currently on the Wii then because SMG has the best graphics on the system and even includes many graphical techniques that are found on the PS3/360.

I have played God of War before, and the story is not that unique...seeing as it is based on Greek mythology in the first place. Much of the gameplay consists of button mashing.

Moving on to gravity. What I meant by that was being able to manipulate gravity in many different ways. In most games, you jump and come back down as you stated before. In SMG, you have to take into account the gravitational pull of the objects around you. What this means is that you will be platforming upside down, on the side, etc.

You stated that Bioshock is "worthy of becoming Game of the Year." But who actually won GOTY from most gaming sites? SMG. That is a fact.

Lastly, over 8 million people bought SMG, so who is getting left behind again?

I don't care what a game does to a mediocre series. The games but then were a blast. Now, it's for people who will buy a game if it just says Mario on it. Please save me how the the game utilizes the Wii's power or whatever. Big deal it still has inferior graphics. Yes, your damn right I want my games to look good. Not a big issue though. God of War story is based on Greek mythology but makes it's own story revolving around them. If you wanted story you shouldn't have gotten into it. We all know how lame it is to save the princess from bowser a million times. Mario will probably still use the same save the princess thing we have seen many, many times before. I'm not going to go in depth about God of War because anyone with a brain will tell you it's better than a mario game and then it will become into a Mario vs God of War which isn't right, regardless of what you think is better. Again, you use the gravity thing. Big deal, there is gravitational pull. That is exactly how I judge my games before I buy them, whether or not it has gravitational pull. It may be fun for a child, but come on do you really jump up and down when something you can't see pulls you down. Were in a gravitational pull at this moment on earth why aren't you excited now? I'll say it again so you can understand sales don't mean a thing. Wii sports sold 47 million. Guess what everyone Wii sports is now deemed best game ever. Get real. When you and I play our games we don't give a **** how much it sold. I don't go and buy a game on how much it sold, I go and but them because they interest me! So the game got GOTY your going to use the media to justify your point. Mighty good one there. I didn't see that coming.

oh I get it you're one of those " I ONLY BUY MATURE GAMES FOR MATURE GAMERZ SUCH AS MYSELF" gamers. Whatever floats your boat man. The rest of us can appreciate mario's gameplay despite the lack of blood and gore

By all means bro, go ahead. It's your opinion that matters in the end of the day not mine. I'm just giving mine too.

[QUOTE="keytheway"]Have fun saving the princess kid. Don't eat too much shrooms alright. Spare me the **** some fat plumber who runs on planets and squishes monsters is better than God of War 3? Get real. Not to mention the graphics are about 5 times better. I'm not saying I' m some kind of tough guy or thug, but its a fact that one with a mature brain would appreciate the God of War series more than Mario. If you like it fine, your entitled to your opinion but please don't make a mockery out of a master piece by saying it's the same as something that is milked dry. How many times have you saved the princess?shoryuken_

The only one acting like a kid here is you, lol. What do graphics have to do with anything? If you look at both games RELATIVE to the hardware that they are using, SMG pushes graphics more.

Want a little history lesson? Here goes.

Super Mario Bros. - Coupled with the NES, single-handedly revived the entire gaming industry.

Super Mario Bros. 3 - Introduced things like powerups and an overworld map which would become a staple of the series.

Super Mario 64 - Showed the entire world how 3d games were meant to be played and controlled

Super Mario Galaxy - The first game EVER to successfuly utilize spherical worlds and gravity.

Can you tell me anything that God of War has done on par with the things I listed above? Mario games have raised the bar time and time again and have revolutionized the ways in which games are played numerous times.

GTA IV got 10's everywhere. Did it really deserve it? Up to you.

[QUOTE="keytheway"]Sorry, but this is the dumbest suggestion since people elected Hitler .Wardemon50
It's more of a "If I were in charge, I'd ask why..."

Oh, well in this point in time, Sony can't afford to make the price of anything any higher. There not receiving as much as they should because of how much the PS3 costs.

No way. My Wii is collecting dust right now. There is just too many games coming out for PS3 this and next year. God Of War 3 will single handedly be better than any of the games coming out for the Wii. If you say no, your just a fanboy. Although it might look like, I might have to open it again. SMG is a joke. Mario games? I stopped playing those when I was 6.
