It's incredibly unfortunate that Bungie will not allow your account to work on any platform. No one played it on PC yet 100% of players are currently on console. Who will get left out when some upgrade to PC while other mates remain on console? I would gladly buy it on PC for the campaign in 4k/60 maxed out then jump online on PS4 Pro to play with all the guys I originally played with when the game launched. However, I will not at all want to level up twice to do so... This is the painful dilemma of not supporting all platforms at the get go.
@golden1elite: PlayStation is a utilitarian console for the best possible gaming experience on your own terms. Xbox is all about the social experience and group activities with a strong emphasis on selling you as much digital content and services as possible. I believe the Xbox UI is so good because of the forced need to try and organize all the marketing and social content. It's been evolving and growing since the later 2000's. Sony's has hardly changed because they want you to decide how to use it, not the other way around. I love the Xbox UI because it feels more flexible and alive but I'm not fooled into thinking it's anything more than a gigantic marketing interface.
@garysan: I would expect MS to put more heat on devs to do it, much like how CD project RED suddenly decided to patch Wither 3 after officially announcing they were not. The PS4 has such a ridiculously huge lead that Sony has been too passive regarding the Pro support where Microsoft has to have as many 4K enabled games as possible at market to justify the X and for people to buy it. Sunset Overdrive is one of very few true Xbox exclusives and they would be foolish to over look that. I say it's required out of necessity, not just luxury.
Current Pro support completely sucks though. Too many titles with no serious patch is completely unacceptable. Horizon Zero Dawn, Wipout and Uncharted 4 set the bar for what could be and those make the games with no real support even more infuriating because of the overlooked potential.
@bdrtfm: Everyone is confident that neither Microsoft nor Nintendo will be releasing any new consoles within the next 3 years beyond what has already been announced. Xbox One X is the answer to gamers demanding better graphics and buying PS4's. MS is set for a while with the X. Nintendo doesn't give a shit and will continue to repackage old tech as soon as their currently repacked old tech sales dwindle to nothing and want to look relevant again while others are releasing genuinely new hardware.
I hope they take the time to patch Sunset Overdrive for 4k/60 on the Xbox One X. I've been waiting patiently for a long time to play it with modern graphics believing the rumors of the immanent PC release that never came. According to Microsoft, patching these 900p games to 4K is quick and easy.
