I have been renting movies lately in Blueray. I have to say I CAN"T tell the difference in general.

The next movies I rent will be in normal definition because its not worth the price difference when I didn't notice the difference anyway.

I am watching it on a philips 63" plasma which does 1080i.

Don't waist your money.

the Playstation 3 wording on the tope flaked off on my system.
the letters are just barely glued on and will eventually come off as they are touched or rubbed.

The cover for the flash cards came off too.
It is glued on barely also. Sony should have done a better quality job. But they probably had to cut corners to save money for their very cheap costing $600 system.

I have only had mine for a week.

I dont care too much though as long as the system works.

The ps3 rocks though!

Have you ever heard the TERM, "Don't fix it if it aint broke"

I have my ps3 and surround sound receiver in a closet which makes it too far away to play it with the usb plugged in.

Here is my solution with a controller that has a dead battery. I either plug it into my laptop next to my couch or a usb hub in the wall. This allows me to play wirelessly to the ps3 and charge it at the same time.

Hope this helps.

I own both.

My xbox360 has the ring of death now and I just bought the ps3.

This thing is sweet! I love the controller. It was so light I thought it required the usb cable to play, then I disconnected it and found that it was wireless too!

I love the motion detection feature of the controller. This KILLS the xbox 360 controller and acts like the wii in many ways and even better because it combines the two.

I looked at the inards of the cooling system for the ps3 and expect it to fare better than the 360. btw- MS sent mine back saying I tampered with and and now refuse to repair it.

I am playing mine on a Phillips 63inch plasma tv with HDMI cable at 1080i. It looks so crisp and clean, LOVE IT!

The menu on the ps3 is cool because its different. The 360 menu is lame. This is an objective position because I want to play both machines.

One problem I have thus far is getting my bluetooth stereo headset to work with the ps3. The microphone on the headset works but not the earphones. I am not sure whats up with that.

With the cutting edge processor on the ps3 I expected the installs, etc. to scream but they seem to take a while. I am not sure whats up with that.

I got the ring of death, i.e. three lights.

Called Microsoft and it was a month or two past warranty.  They offered to fix it for $140.

I took it apart to see if I could see an obvious problem. Nothing obvous so I put it back together, it turns on now.

After a week, the lights came back. Its deader than a doornail now.

I took it apart again, took off the processors to see how much artic silver compound was on there.  The standard amount.

Put the thing back together, uhho I have some of the screws missing.

Now I get two lights when turned on, I gues its because I am missing screws for the case. Anyone know?

Called Microsoft, they gave me the same offer. I mentioned that there are thousands of people that have same defect. They offered 50% discount to fix it, so $60. I took the offer.

Question, are they going to reject the console when they see that the box has been openend and screws are missing?

Anyone know?
