it doesn't take a genius to figure out halo is a bigger name than anything in videogames it doesn't matter if it's a sequel anything halo will get buys unlike uncharted 2 where uncharted 1 didn't sell well neither demons soul w3hich nobody even knows about yet halo is a household name and so is gta.
No Mario is a bigger name- it is synonmous with video games.
Since we are going by house hold names, I take it when GT5 comes out it would move Playstation 3's phenomonally?
How about the Playstation name? That should have moved the Playstation 3 to first already within 2 years of this generation especially how the PS2 performed.
Halo ODST still sold quite well(expansion or not-that's still debatable)
A console price drop obviously is more effective to moving consoles then games-even Halo and GTA.
The fact of the matter is WW the PS3 is still in last place, a few months of a sales spurt is not going to change that, and the pint of view where the Xbox360 has to beat the PS3 is backwards. It's the PS3 that has to beat the Xbox360.
Otherwise why does something like this make headlines in System Wars?
ODST wasn't as nearly as big as Halo 3. These people are clueless. And yes, GT5 will sell consoles, because in about 7-8 months from release, it's gonna be sold with the system. ODST is different because you don't play as a Spartan, you play as an orbital drop ship troop, so that's why it wasn't nearly as popular as the other halo series. Just because it's Halo, doesn't mean it will be a system seller. It has to be the next BIG Halo, and ODST was not claimed to be that.
