PC Gaming and WoW

Well, I bought a laptop that can handle some of the high-end PC games. It's not the best laptop in the world, but it handles medium Crysis settings and the best settings of WoW.

On that note, I just got involved in WoW. I can't stress how much of a life-sucker this game is. It's an awesome game. I downloaded the trial just for the heck of it. I was hooked in under an hour. I ran out, bought the game and expansion, and headed out into Azeroth.

Rock Band Poesy

Across the sea of faces

I spread my vocal bliss

Rockin' the five-button git-fiddle

Hoping a note I wouldn't miss.

Lyrics scroll across my vision

Teasing me from my focus.

Working my musical magic

with the usual hocus-pocus.

Melodies leave me in a rush

an intermingled mixture.

Titles combine to form

an amalgamated picture.

I "Creep" "Next to You" into

the "Epic" "Black Hole Sun"

where the "Green Grass and High Tides"

"Gimme Shelter" from the "Main Offender."

We "Learn to Fly" away from

the "Wave of Mutilation,"

We "Run to the Hills" upon a "Highway Star,"

where empty "Maps" are "Dead on Arrival."

"Don't Fear the Reaper," you whisper.

"Welcome Home."

The Day Xbox Live Went Down

The horde of Xbox Live patrons

Stood resolute against the coming tide

of fierce nothingness emanating from Live.

They rose up with one defiant voice,

"Yo, this is frickin LAME!"

All shouting to play that Oblivion game.

Sgt. Nelson answered, "There seems to be a problem."

The Live community responded with a quiver,

fearful that Live will be unable to deliver.

So to you I say, "Rise up!"

"Gamers! Hold your heads high!

Tomorrow I'll be playing Gears,

And you shall surely die!"

Almost there...

Well, it feels as though I have been stuck in level 20 limbo for the past four months or so.  Wait...I have been stuck in level 20 for that long.  Maybe longer....Really, I've lost count.  I'm at 94% now.  Maybe in another month or so I will be...a Rescue Ranger?  Is that right? Oh, well.  Here's to advancement.

Oblivion

Well, I finally got my copy of Oblivion and have logged well over 24 hours of gameplay time already.  My character is now a Lvl 12 Sorcerer and is getting his butt kicked by a bunch of dead-head necromancers.  Bunch of crap!

My poor girlfriend has suffered through a number of evenings watching me play the game.  She seems to enjoy the potions aspect of the game, leaving me to concoct many multi-flavored potions.  Thankfully, it really helps to poison my blade just before striking the necromancers.  I silence them, give them a weakness to poisons, then wail on them.  Fun stuff!

March Madness

Well, it's March.  Lots of 360 games coming out.  I have been playing RE on the GC during the interlude between COD2 and the March releases.  Getting Oblivion is high on my list of priorities.  I have the CE of Oblivion reserved and am getting extra hours of sleep to gear up.  GRAW looks to be a great purchase as well.  For someone who does not spend an ungodly amount of time on Live, I am not sure, however, that 10 hours of gameplay time is really worth the purchase.  Perhaps I will get it after getting Oblivion.  I'll use it as a break from the 100+ hours I have been promised Oblivion to be.

Gamer

This is my first blog, so I will begin with introductions.  I'm 29 and have been a gamer since I was 5.  My mom used to take me to a convenience store, push a chair against the Donkey Kong video game machine, give me a pocket full of quarters, and let me loose on those flaming barrels while she talked to her friends at the store.

I have owned an Atari, an NES, Gameboy, Super Nintendo,  Sega Genesis, Sega Dreamcast, Nintendo 64, Playstation,  xBox, Gameboy Advance, and an xBox 360 ( My girlfriend and I spent the night outside of Circuit City to get the 360.)  Unfortunately, I now only have a 360.

Youth tends to not look forward in time.  I should have kept the other consoles.  Oh, well.  Live and learn.  I do intend to get the Revolution and the PS3, keeping the 360 as well.
