As far as I can tell, Harmonix hasn't really changed the timing window, no. I do think it might be ever so slightly wider (I find really fast stuff a little bit easier in RB3), but still nowhere near GH:WOR's timing.
^ Make absolutely certain that your warranty is expired before attempting to take the xbox apart. Doing so will void the warranty if you still have one--which you should. However, one red light is not the RRoD. It's something else entirely I believe.
^ This is the easiest way. But retrieving your gamertag only causes a loss of achievements/save games if you earned some achievements before you last signed in to Live. Otherwise, it's perfectly fine.
Just FYI: mine works fine. It seems like a lot of people are having issues, whether they can't connect to Live, or they can't read disks, etc. Not just a kinect issue then.
same issue for me. Just bought the xbox 360 + kinect. Update in today and poof no longer read discs or login to xbox live. called support. no help other than clear cache and accused me of pirating. godango
Hm, it's a Kinect bundle issue then. Weird. I only wish customer support were a bit more helpful with these kinds of things...
