I'm kinda sad to hear that PS2 will be retiring next year. People still play them in this region(South east Asia). Gaming don't need to be expensive. There will be a market for a $99 console and a $9.90 - 19.90 games here. Wish somebody will take that up.. once PS2 has been phased out. Last i heard/read people still play the megadrive in Brazil. Hopefully Sega will be smart by now and grant those smart people /company in Brazil/China the licence to produce a dreamcast equivalent( hopefully with HD capabilities) which sell like $100 or less and hopefully sell like hotcakes. So much so that they will export it to other region.
Games could be just old rehash Sega title but HD graphics. Imagine Street of rage being redone just like SFIIHD..Anyone heard of zeebo? Maybe not this gen, how about next gen when the are phasing out x360... quite sure hardware to produce HD graphics will be quite cheap by then.
