Happy Thursday everybody!

Just ordered a Black Seagate FA GO 320GB portable hard drive from amazon. I've never bought an external hard drive before let alone an internal one. But I really need one because the hard drive I'm using is nearing it's limit; I only have a measly 160GB on my notebook. I remember the very first computer I ever had was a windows 98 with only a 16GB hard drive; surprisingly it lasted me 4 years without ever running out of space. I think another reason why it lasted me so long was because back then I hardly ever used the internet so I didn't download anything.

If I wanted to use the internet I had to run a 20 ft cable from the telephone wire downstairs; my parents had a shop at the bottom and if I wanted to use the internet I had to make sure I wasn't using it while the shop was open, otherwise customers wouldn't be able to call to make orders. Gone are the days of dial-up internet, and now I'm faced with downloading too much.

A large proportion of my notebook was dedicated to my music collection, but when I started to run out of space, I backed up my music to my ipod and used imeem if I wanted to listen to music on my computer. Even with a condensed library of music and video, I was still running into the situation of running low on disk space lolll. I don't really mind running out of storage space but I don't enjoy backing up files to spindles of DVDs so I've finally given in and decided that I am in need of a new hard drive.
