@MondasM That gives me hope. Kind of.

@soethi6 remove any disc, listen in to the sides of the PS4 during main menu (XMB or whatever it's called now)

@Articuno76 No disc inside. It's most likely the HDD. Could be the fan though.

I don't want to sacrifice my genuine windows 8 on the SSD for testing. I'll see if I can borrow an SSD from a friend and tell you guys the results.

Yeah everyone seems to have it. Cheap ass HDD apparently. I'll test it out with an SSD and see if it solves the problem then return it.

Bought a PS4 last week and I was stupid enough not to unbox it straight away. I did that an hour ago and heard a really loud buzz halfway through the set up. I hadn't even put a disc yet. The sound's been there and it only disappears when I hold the PS button to get the "shut down menu". It's there in the main menu, it's there when I log in, it's there when I play. It's the fans on both sides. Horizontal placement. Also it's shooting out flaming hot air from the back.

Why does the buzz disappear when I hold PS button? Is this normal?

I'm going to sleep now and wake up to see your replies. If it's not normal I'll take it to the service center and hope they replace it.

[QUOTE="DerekLoffin"][QUOTE="dercoo"]

To put it in perspective these are the effected nations:

Bahrain, Lebanon, Romania, Oman, Slovakia, Malta, Cyprus and Iceland.

Icarian

Those are just the EU countries affected, so there are others. Says so right in the article.

Romania, Slovakia, Malta and Cyprus are the only EU countries on that list. Bahrain, Lebanon and Oman aren't even in Europe. Iceland isn't a member of the EU.

By Europe they mean REGION 2. And no, the one PS+ account for the entire console isn't going to work for other accounts that don't have a store. Apparently we can't even sign into the PS4 with our local accounts.

And yet this thread continues...

santoron
Because you idiots fail to realize that creating a fake account only works for the PS3, it will NOT work for the PS4s.

[QUOTE="Raziel831991"]

Lemmings are so damn ignorant... You can still play the PS4 since it doesnt require an internet connection and you can play online by making just a psn account of another country

xhawk27

And X1 can't? :|

No, before they announced the removal of the region lock they said they'll check your IP. If your IP is not from those countries your box is dead.

http://www.gamesreviews.com/news/06/ps4-online-blocked-for-countries-without-a-store/

Sony has a solution for places like Iceland who do not have access to the Playstation Store. Buy a PS3. :lol:

Gargus

They can still play the PS4 though. They just dont have PSN there, yet. But the system does not require an internet connection.

Essentially this news is saying the same thing as the ps3 and vita since you can play those anywhere in the world, just some countries cant access PSN.

Unlike xbox one if you dont have XBL in your country you cant play it all because of the need to connect to it every 24 hours.

Even if the PS4 doesnt launch in a country they can still import one because they are region free and can play a game from anywhere in the world. You can import an xbox one also and play it, but only for 24 hours.

not true. We can play online on PS3. We won't be able to play on PS4 because it requires PS+, and PS+ requires a store.

OH OH, NOW they **** acknowledge it. I've been bitching about this since Sony's E3 stream and nobody cared, nobody believed me.

Except this has nothing to do with that and most people are rather indifferent to it :| try reading the topic sometime.

idiot. how about YOU go read the topic? You only read the title didn't you? I posted that specifically talking about how we can't play online for not having a store.

[QUOTE="kookitto"]OK, even if they'll us play online using a no-store account. What about the content? Have you seen the stage demo of DRIVE CLUB? They basically said half the cars and tracks are only available for plus users. Pretty sure I can't get that shit without having access to the store from that account. Unless it's DLC-like. I'm sorry but unless I could see a plus sign on my avatar, it's bullshit.Trail_Mix
Curious, how exactly did you manage this ending gen with all the add-ons and DLC without the use of a store?

I told you I had an "illegal" US account for DLCs and online passes. but I've always played on the local account.
