Uprising - great game but horribly underrated. Even scored a solid 7.1 at Gamespot.

So, where is the news? It's been long since they announced that the next game wouldn't be part of any of the already existing franchises.

I think StarCraft hasn't the same epic, player-experienced (!) story the WarCraft series has, so there isn't as much background as for WoW. I could, however, imagine a Battlefield-style MMOFPS in the StarCraft universe.

From what I've read about SupCom, it's no game for someone new to the genre.

The latest part in the Command & Conquer series looks quite good, but you might be lost in the story if you don't know about the previous installments. I would however recommend it for a "starter" - either that, WarCraft 3 or my personal favourite, Warhammer 40K: Dawn Of War.

I think of it as a poor man's online RPG. I just can't play a game like Guild Wars after playing a fully featured online RPG, like a MMO.GlenQuagmire

I disagree. After being fed up with WoW, Guild Wars was a welcome and refreshing change to me. Some of its advantages over other MMOs are the superior graphics (WoW is hiding being a more comic-like look, but even that could be better) and computer-controlled party members (if you wish to recruit them) that will help you through harder quests if you can't find any "real" party members - or just want to play alone for a while.

Would EVE Onlie cout as SciFi MMO? It's not exactly like you are running around on planets shooting aliens and stuff, but it's clearly a SciFi setting.
