I'll tell you how to fix it, KAY so you right go into the explorer, then program files, then bethesda softworks then oblivion, then open up Oblivion_default.ini in Notepad. KAY with me so far? then when you have it open hit ctrl+f (Find) then type in framerate, hit enter, change the iautoviewhiframerate and the iautoviewlowframerate to lets say 100, because chances are your PC can't pump out higher then that, that right there will get rid of your framerate cap, just make sure u save it obviously.

A $5000 PC should be able to play most games for several years, at least five. However, you'll probably have to upgrade the graphics card(s) within the next three years if you want to play all games at max settings. BlueBirdTS

hardware comes and goes so fast it would be to me dumb to blow $3000-4000 more than you need on overkill parts since parts get outdatted fast a $6K rig will cost like $1500 in 2 years your going to be way way better off getting a $2k system with monitor then saving the rest for upgrades you will last a whole lot longer

right, ya but you see if I can buy a 6K rig now, and not have to start buying upgrades for a good 3 - 4 years I dont really mind, my last desktop i got in 2000 I believe its a hunk of crap i miss playing PC games, my laptop's really not buit for the job.

don't get me wrong if you have a good paying job and don't mind it then by all means go for it and as for the 3-4 years yes thats true but don't expect to playing high settings or above for some of those years

Well I mean how long do you expect them to last?

Unless you have some need aside from games, I just don't think it's really worth it. A $300 graphics card should do just fine in most games. Buying a top-of-the-line processor will perform very similarly to $200-$300 CPUs, and you can get fast DDR2 RAM for less than $100. If you have a lot of multimedia, you might want to get a terabyte hard drive, but you could probably do with less. Basically, it gets to a certain point where you're paying hundreds of dollars more for minimal performance gains. BlueBirdTS
Ya, I use it for other stuff, I work on code which doesnt have much PC power significance, but the photo and especially the video editing may justify some of it?
