The character record option for leveling is permanently locked on all three characters I have created so far. Not sure what the problem is but it's... frustrating.

Considering current-gen is winding down with some good games yet to come and not a lot of excitement on next-gen game front as yet. Factor in PC gaming is cheaper and on the up and for some reason there is a 20% premium on PS4/XboxONE games (in the UK at least) it's not that surprising. Will pick up next year.

IMHO CoD: MW2 is the greatest FPS of all time especially the MP on consoles. The trouble is that Activision have cashed in adding massive premiums on the series itself and DLC that has pissed people off. Haven't played the series since...

Very difficullt list to compile; Fallout 3, Tales of Vesperia, Bayonetta and Assasin's Creed 2 just fell short.

The probelm here is that developers and publishers are under pressure to show profits every period and when your sitting on a cash cow series like CoD it makes sense from a business pov to exploit and release such games {if you can} every year.

I just play the modern warfare series because its an interesting storyline and love it or hate it has become the benchmark for competitive multiplayer,

Battlefied is just a good all rounder and requires a lot more strategy and teamwork to play AND attracts a certain kind of player who appreciates that,

I haven't Killzone multiplayer that much but I am tempted to pick it up and try it sometime.

Consoles are showing their age because nowadays product lifecycles are getting shorter and the progress between generations getting bigger. Consoles have suffered because well 5-6 years is a long time in this business and when everything around you is advancing and your static of course your limitations are exposed.

ah keysurf, i have good and bad news gentlemen...

the good news, to connect to xbox live (via usb or ethernet) you need to do so via the "alternate mac address" option in xbox live

1. on your pc, click "start>run" and type "cmd" to bring up command prompt.

2. type "ipconfig>all" to bring up your network details and configuration

3. what you're looking is the "physical address" e.g. 00-01-02-AB-4C-03 note this down

4. in xbl go to "system settings>network settings>configure network>additional settings>advanced settings" and enter the alternate mac address

5. ensure your xbox is connected and that your ip address, subnet, gateway etc. is picked by your console and this will work

the bad news is that 9/10 times, speeds vary and that the majority of multiplayer games are unplayable or laggy at best due to a moderate or strict NAT. although you can still connect to xbl you really can't do that much... damn you keycom.
