I bet the layoffs have a lot to do with their higher salaries. Most have been here for many years and with Gamespot losing traffic, it's probably impossible to keep paying to keep all the "senior" editors. Since the site redesign, I find myself coming here less and less. They really need to revamp everything and hope people start coming back. Just look at IGN. It may have sloppy writing as well sometimes, but the site is so cleanly made and easy to use, that people will keep using it. I don't know how to design a website so I have no clue what they should do to fix it but maybe they can design several different examples and have its fans/users pick which one they like best. Just my two cents.
