I'm in a bit of a pickle. I absolutely love racing games, but sadly I don't get to play that many good ones on the PC. I have TrackMania, and while fun, it isn't exactly what I am looking for.

My favorite racing sim is Forza 2. I just love the car customization, tuning, and especially being able to paint various designs onto my car which I would spend hours doing. The thing is though that I do not have Xbox Live and I really would rather not pay for it when I'd just be playing that one game on Live since no other Xbox game interests me that much.

So here's my question. Can anybody recommend a good racing game/sim with a bunch of customization options for the PC? I have tried to Need For Speed series in the past, but honestly it isn't my cup of tea and I really don't care for it. I have also looked at GRID, but you can't really customize much from what I have heard and there aren't that many cars.

umm... it wasn't Vista exclusive.

The game ran fine on XP.

Whoops, my bad. The whole "Games for Windows" blurb at the top of the box had me confused about Vista-exclusivity.

The one thing I don't get about Crytek complaining about low sales is the piracy argument, especially when they already said that the sales of the game exceeded expectations. Besides, I think the insane system requirements and the Vista exclusivity hurt sales a whole lot more than piracy did. Maybe they know that, but it isn't as easy to say as, "the pirates did it!"

That said, a Crysis sequel/expansion is good. Hopefully it improves on the formula of the original game.

how is it playing the same boaring stategy games over and over again?

how can you play games like NBA 2k8 and Madden with up to 4 or 8 players if you link all on one TV?

no you dont get those games at all. is that the first exclusive Crysisthat is AAA that came out since 360 has been out?

look at the top 30 rated games of all time why are there 0 PC games in there??

12. PC Games: Half-Life 2 (2004) scored 96 (Valve). Oops! Not a strategy game!

16. PC Games: Half-Life (1998) scored 96 (Valve). Well dang, this isn't a strategy game either!

21. PC Games: BioShock (2007) scored 96 (2K Games). Where's the RTS here?

24. PC Games: Out of the Park Baseball 2007 (2007) scored 96 (Sports Interactive). Ha ha ha I haven't even heard of this one. So where's the strategy?

25. PC Games: Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn (2000) scored 96 (Interplay). Doesn't sound like I need more vespene gas right now.
