We FINALLY got Bioshock for the xbox360 and before we could even play it, as SOON as we turned on the machine, it went into a red ring of death! No matter how many times we retry, it goes into the red ring of death and dies!

UPDATE: The kicker here is that this xbox 360 is already a replacement sent to us by microsoft after getting a red ring last July or so. Our fixt xbox 360 died when we got the game Deadrising. We sent it in then and got a replacement.

We haven't had a problem since, and then when we went to play BioShock and got the red ring, Mike said "oh yeah, it did that last night and this morning for a short bit", but this time, it was unplayable.

Mike had read online that microsoft recommends unplugging the 3rd party USB Intercooler if you have one, as that is supposed to cause problems, although we can't see how that would be. So, we do have the Intercooler, and Mike DID unplug it, and it's been fine all night! I am surprised by that. I can't see how removing that would make a difference. All I can think of is that the USB-powered Intercooler is drawing power from the xbox and that is somehow interfering.

He is torture-testing the xbox 360 w/ Bioshock and Deadrising tonight because if it's gonna red-ring on us again, we went to send it in to microsoft before the current warranty runs out (the one the microsoft extended for 3 years after everyone was having the same problem). If we have to send it it, we kinda want to get that process started so that it can be over with sooner.

Does anyone know, if I am in the US and I buy THIS from amazon.uk, is it region coded? Will I be able to play it on my DS here in the states? I actually got my pink DS from YesAsia.com so I don't know if it'll play games meant for the UK or if DS games even HAVE region coding. I want this game but can't find it in the US! Does anyone know?

UPDATE: I tried pre-ordering it from amazon.co.uk and they won't let me w/ a US address. Not even Canada (or I'd have my Canadian relatives order it and then mail it to me). I don't see it as a pre-order on YesAsia.com either, nor play-asia.com. I hope that once it comes out (end of September) I'll be able to get my hands on a copy. WHAT IS WITH these companies and their stupid business practices!?

I just updated my My Games list.  I'm not sure it's 100% complete as far as ps1, ps2, gba, x360 and pc games, but the Wii and DS sections should be up to date.

Today I got Purr Pals for the DS and we also got Elebits, Wii Play, and Marble Mania for the Wii.

Anyone still play Animal Crossing on the DS?  I do.  It's still my favorite.  And I got myself all caught up today on it (saved my hybrids, got caught up to today's date, re-planted my hybrids, pulled my weeds, etc.)

I've been so out of it.  I am still playing Animal Crossing on the DS Lite even tho' it's "old", but I love it. I have bought a few games but nothing has hooked me quite like Animal Crossing has.

I did buy Sims Vet DS but it won't work on my ds lite, so I have to use hubby's ds lite to play it.

I'm getting a lot of BLINKING with this new (new?) gamespot blogging interface.  I'm using Mozilla, maybe I should try Firefox instead. 

I created the Adult Gamers Union. I'm having trouble keeping the union interesting. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep the conversation going over there? Ideas for fun stuff to do with unions? I think the concept is sound; a place for mature gamers to have gaming conversation without immature nastiness. People keep joining, but I want to make it interesting for them. ?

Edited to add: And I have to say that with gamespot limiting you to 3 posts in 15 minutes, it's IMPOSSIBLE to get anything DONE on this website!  I want to keep my union going but I get penalized if I try to post on the union board, post a front page story, or anything else.  3 posts in a 15 minute period?  Are they crazy?  The error says it's to "prevent flooding", but it causes people like me, who manage a union and are trying to get things DONE, to get aggrevated and sign off.  No wonder I go 3 months between visists here.  Geez.

I just got Sims 2 Pets for DS. It freezes up on my Pink DS Lite constantly, even before I can set up my character.

It doesn't do this on hubby's black DS lite.

I wonder how common this is. I'll go check the forums and see...

Surfing the internet and watching movies on the Nintendo Wii using the Opera Browser:

It’s so neat now to be able to surf the net on the Wii.

We have the Nintendo Wii and they just released an Opera browser for it. There is something fun about surfing TOGETHER from the couch, sites like flickr and youtube are a lot of fun to watch together. Then we went to google video and watched some full length stuff such as the full movie Jesus Camp and a few documentaries. VERY COOL. Now that we can DO this, watch a movie on the wii, together, from the couch, theoretically w/ a bowl of popcorn between us, we are now wishing that there was a download-on-demand movie rental website where you can stream the movie IN THE BROWSER, not a watch it in a seperate player. So we just searched google video and youtube for interesting stuff.
Here is an article about download movie services but as far as I can tell, none of them stream the movie in the browser.

Using the WiiMote from the couch to watch movies is great; scroll around, pause, go back, etc.
