Since when is adoption something you have a right to?[QUOTE="Pixel-Pirate"][QUOTE="lazerwolf65"]Well, not allowing legal privileges based on views rather than prior actions is thought regulation.heysharpshooter
Indeed...
The government is the primary caretaker of the children... they don't have to allow anyone to adpot any of them...
Well that's all well and good, but their reasoning is all wrong. The couple had already fostered children in the past, and from the information given, it seems that they did a good job (i.e. they took care of the children and did not allow harm to come to them). Based on their actions, there is nothing wrong. The state, however, is not worried about their previous success--their actions--it's only worried about their stance on one issue. Yes, the state can deny anyone they want to give foster care (remember, it's FOSTER CARE, not adoption), but the principle their setting is all wrong. Unless there is evidence that the couple would encourage a child to harm a homosexual, the state simply is saying that they don't like an opinion and that's sufficient to deny them the privelage to foster children. Well, what if the government decides that it doesn't want parents who dislike the royal family to foster children? What if it decides that it doesn't want people who dislike Christians to foster children?
