sending out emails one by one in alpabetical order....
not sure what i was expecting, having everything else in this process turn out as retarded as this.
I posted this in the LBP forum not knowing everyone was complaining in here. Someone in the LBP forum was trying to justify that we should be happy Gamespot's having this contest in the first place. I disagree,
1. We had to watch an entire show in order to get the codes. They get advertising revenue from this. 2. In order to answer the question, you had to watch another episode. More advertising revenue. 3. They hold off on delivering the codes for almost a week. People check back onto the site constantly (this thread alone is 250+ pages). Even more advertising revenue. 4. Failure to give accurate updates. First it was soon on Thursday, then it was soon on Friday, then it was sometime on Monday, now its sometime on Wednesday, now its just an disappointing silence. 5. The number of emails doesnt matter. It was a first come first serve contest. they had a similar number of codes that other sites did. Why must you go through 10,000 plus emails to read the first 2000 or so that would get keys? 6. They screwed up the contest in the first place. Insert the answer in the box on the right, umm... what box? 7. People are still kinda sore over Kane & Lynch. Regardless of what happened in that situation, people are remembering that today. 8. Everyday Gamespot delays sending out their beta keys, their users get one less day to enjoy it. The clock is ticking, less than 10 days left in the beta now. 9. They never had the keys in the first place. WTF..... 10. They hope we forget about last week's contest as they announce a new contest this week. Hoora... wait, WHAT!? 11. Most of Gamespot's users who threaten to leave when something like this happens NEVER DO. 12. It is extremely important to note that Gamespot has made money every time you click refresh to see if they sent them out. I have met most of the staff at Gamespot, I got 2nd place in the after hours contest a couple years ago. I had the utmost respect and appreciation for the people who work there. It's just unfortunate that most of the people I met and had respect for don't work there anymore, like Greg Kasavin, Jeff G, and many others. It takes an adult to admit they did something wrong. Everyday that goes by with no response, you only prove to me that you lack the ability to admit that you made a mistake. That's the only reason people are upset.
