The world best pilot,Cid was also meant to be the first man in space however Shinra felt that space exploration wasnt worthwhile and cancelled the project and along with it Cids dreams. He has been waiting for a chance to go to space ever since and when Shinra got his hopes up and let him down a second time he give up on them and joined Cloud. His weopan in battle is a Lance and he uses it to max effect.

Formerly of the turks Vincent is a man shrouded in mystery. He has had a difficult  time with the shinra and decides to join Cloud in the fight against them. Vincent is more powerful than even he  realises,for inside he has been genetically modified,and when the time comes he transforms into a powerful beast.

Aeris works as a flower girl in the slums in Midgar,Aeris has a link with the Shinra,she is constantly been hunted down by the Shinra elite,The Turks.She hires Cloud as a bodygaurd to protect her from the Shinra and after hearing about Clouds past. Aeris isnt very powerful in battle but her true power still remains clouded in mystery.

Tifa armed with nothing but her fists of steel is powerful enough to knock even the most powerful of foes. Tifa and Cloud were childhood friends growing up together in Nibelheim. She owns a bar in Midgar city which is really a front for Barrets Avalanche. LIke Cloud she hates the shinra and Sephiroth for destroying her hometown and killing her father.

Barret is leader of ragtag rebel group Avalanche,his weapon a machine gun mounted on his arm. Barret hates the Shinra company because they destroyed his hometown and killed his wife and family,ever since he has devoted his life to saving to planet. At first he is reluctant to allow Cloud to fight along side him but soon realises tht he needs all the help he can get! 

IMO the greatest FF character of all= Cloud Strife

A cold hearted mercenary only interested in Gil(money),Cloud joins ragtag rebel group Avalanche led by Barret Wallace. In a world thats run by the super corporation that is Shinra they stand little chance,even with Cloud as an ally and to make it worse the plot thickens as it turns out that they have a completly different foe in the form of the evil Sephiroth(greatest baddie ever). Cloud and Sephiroth were once allys, but after Sephiroths mind became corrupt and he destroyed Clouds hometown they became each others nemisis. Cloud not only ventures on a quest to save to world,but also to get revenge on his greatest enemy of all...........
