It's obvious that ATI has a buggy driver for their video card. As you can see the results for the 2900XT aren't consistent. In some it performs better than the 8800gts 640mb but in some, and most cases, the 8800GTS outperforms it given that the ATI gpu has more transistors and more clock speed than the NVIDIA bet. I think I'll go for the 8800GTS 640MB. ATI should hire more skilled programmers for their ATI drivers.
