It was never a good game. Neither was halo2 or halo3. It was a generic shooter, even bungie said this in an interview, which had good timing when it was released. callen3

Amazing how generic games with no marketing (Halo 1) become the killer app of a new system. I wish halo was generic, that would mean that their are a lot of other shooters worth playing! 2 sucked compared to 1, 3 is better then 2, if only marginally.

yes halo 1 still rocks my socks to this day. If it were on xbl, id play it for hours a day. Id play it on pc, but it just doesnt feel like halo.
