Gamer Scores, and Trophies, and Big Daddies, OH MY!!!

This will be a semi rant, semi update, and just overall personal view on the world today. To start things off my brother and I have been playing on live more, if not playing we would talk through the headsets. Hey it bead long distance. During one of our conversations I mentioned I got 1000/1000 on Lego Indiana Jones. He congratulated me and also looked over my gamer card. He said he was amazed that my score went up considerably since he last looked at my card. We joked about being gamer score junkies. I told him sometimes I can be, because once I get done with a game I like to go through and try to unlock other achievements. Well now it seems that Sony is dong the trophy system in lieu of gamer points. That's fine by me; I really could care less if Sony does that to meet gamer needs. What irks me is I came across an article about the trophies, mainly the ones that are for BioShock on the PS3. The writer said the trophies that are available are the same as the achievements for the 360. "Is this a sign of things to come for the cross platform games" he asks. Well duh. Game companies like other companies want to maximize profit with minimal cost to them. Who cares if they are the same? This to me is a sign of a player who plays not for the game, but for the gamer score. It is amazing to me that the Playstation community is always up in arms on how Microsoft is stealing all of the exclusives and how much more advanced and better the PS3 is. That may be true on some level and sales for the PS3 may be better, I don't know I haven't checked. No one will be happy, ever! Right now people are up in arms about FFXIII coming to the 360. Hey great, saves me some cash. Then a day or so ago Soul Calibur IV came out. And people are already on the boards complaining about DLC. Hey play the game for the game, if you want the DLC then get it if not then don't. No one is putting a gun to your head and making you shell out the money for it.

Moving on, I have all but abandoned FFXI. I believe I may cancel my account, but can't bring myself to do it. I'll see what happens over the weekend. Right now I got BioShock from GameFly. I actually enjoy the game. It is a little creepy, but overall it seems a lot like Oblivion. As of now I am to the point where I am about to leave the Fisherman's Warf area. I took on a few Big Daddies, and saved some Little Sisters. I'm not that great at hacking yet but it is like the game pipe dream for the NES. So this will be taking up a good majority of my time. I will rotate my games I think. As much as FFXI is fun, I really hate looking for parties for hours. For now I'll deal with Rapture.

I also downloaded UNO from the market place. I figured it would be an easy simple game to just pop in and relax when I got bored. Turns out who ever programmed this made the AI the most cut throat players. I swear, they work against me and make every attempt to prevent me from winning. It's not even like the orange player is trying to win, it's like well let's not let me win. The AI will watch a AI player throw out a wild card call UNO and call blue. Then next AI throws out a blue card, the next one throws a blue skip card to skip me. Well the orange AI throws out. And I am like what in the heck just happened? Oh well, not much I can do about that. It still is fun, once you realize that you have to be as ruthless as possible to win a hand.

After the weekend I will write again about what has happened and any other ignorant articles I come across. Until next time.

OUT.
