(part two) Now that we're done dwelling on what is right and wrong about Nintendo's current gen console, let's examine what they plan to do right next time around. First off, Nintendo has admitted fault in the lack of 3rd party support on the Wii, and has allegedly handed out dev kits for Project Cafe to the heavy hitting 3rd party publishers, with rumors abound that Nintendo may not even have a 1st party launch title ready for Cafe's release. So hopefully, this will put an end to the "lack of variety" argument against the Nintendo. Secondly, Nintendo is ready to embrace the staples of current gen gaming, namely the traditional dual analog centric controller, and HD resolution. By adding these their arsenal, Nintendo can finally publish titles that were previously only available for competing consoles. Anyways, I was gonna put up a brick of text, but my point is: any argument you may have against the Wii is, first off probably completely accurate as the Wii is hella flawed at best, but moreover, those arguments don't apply to the plans Nintendo has for the future, so why don't you post them in a thread from 2007? Just sayin'

(part one) It's funny to me that people feel the need to defend the Nintendo Wii. And that people are so defensive about being called "Nintendo fanboys." I'm a proud Nintendo fanboy, but I'm also quick to admit that the Nintendo Wii is retarded. The online system is antiquated, the Virtual Console was poorly executed, the waggle controls are often more of a gimmick than a display of innovation, and there are almost no compelling 3rd party titles available. That being said, the Nintendo Wii is also brilliant. It dug Nintendo out of a financial grave with blazing efficiency, and effectively gave birth to the lame motion oriented peripherals that Microsoft and Sony are shoving down our throats.
