Sacred 2: Fallen Angel

Jeanne d'Arc

Drakensang: The Dark Eye

Disgaea DS

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4

Neverwinter Nights 2 (CD-ROM)

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars
Some will love it which is great, and some of us, not so much.
There's no question this is a high-quality game and there's parts of it that are very well-executed. But it never grabbed me. I'm a big fan of the DS and Rockstar but some games dont fare well on 2 small screens. ... Read Full Review

Jagged Alliance
GS review is right about the clumsy interface. But there's nothing "wrong" with old-school turn-based games.
I agree with Gamespot's review when it mentions the interface. Even with the touchscreen, it never quite works as one would hope. Moving your team around the small screen can be tiresome. A smaller map might have help... Read Full Review

Sacred 2: Fallen Angel
Much better than some are suggesting here. For genre fans only though
Diablo 2 is still bar far the better game over all, but having said that, I am really, really enjoying this game. Yes the graphics arent as shiny as you would want and, yes, the controller interface is complicated. But... Read Full Review

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
Super sluggish interface drags the score down. Puzzle Quest for DS wsa superior in virtually every way.
Where do I start with the disappointment with the DS version of Galactrix? I loved Puzzle Quest on DS. It had a clean interface and the touch screen perfectly fit the "gem style" gameplay. Galactrix for DS is a mes... Read Full Review

Jeanne d'Arc
A lack of difficulty after about 5 hours pushes the score down. Well-designed interface.
I really wanted to love this game because I am a fan of turn-based games. The story is surprisingly dark-themed, which was a nice surprise. Its still a predictable story much like what we get in Final Fantasy Tactics b... Read Full Review

Drakensang: The Dark Eye
10 hours in the game: how is it so far?
First, I'm very impressed with the stability of the game. I'm running with all effects enabled and hi-res texture pack at 1920 lines on a nothing special PC with a geforce 9800GT and I'm getting a flawless 30+ fps. No ... Read Full Review

Puzzle Quest: Galactrix
Flubbed unfortunately
Like many others here I loved Puzzle Quest. That game had one notable flaw in that later in the game you had spells that could radically change the board in _one_ move. It made the strategic aspect of the game sort of... Read Full Review

Fire Emblem: Shin Ankoku Ryuu to Hikari no Ken
If you're a fan of the series, you'll probably like it. On there other hand, there's little new here.
I've enjoyed 2 Fire Emblem games before this one so I was surprised at my reaction to this game. To put it simply, I got bored. In some ways the game is easier this time around: if you play the turorial you'll get lot... Read Full Review

Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Fun arcade racing for awhile but some galring flaws bring the score down. The graphical engine is impressive.
Like many here, I'm a fan of the burnout games, and arcade racers in general. For everything Criterion does exceedingly well in this game, there's a few other things that they flubbed. The games looks beautiful and r... Read Full Review

Big Bang Mini
Strictly for folks who like exceedingly fast paced casual games. Lacks strategy. Colorful graphics.
It really depends what kind of gamer you are if you are going to enjoy this or not. The graphics are midly amusing and very colorful and they definately add to the charm of the game. You have to protect an icon which... Read Full Review

Dungeons & Dragons Tactics
DandD fans who are also turn-based fans will like it, but others may wonder what the fuss is about
The gamespot reviews does a good job explaining the pros and cons of this game. However I think fans of turn-based DandD games will score this game somewhat higher. A 5 score seems low to me. Some thoughts: 1. Fo... Read Full Review

Disgaea DS
Loved the PS2 version but there's some annoyances in this version that bring the score down.
I'll assume you've played the PS2 version. On the one hand, this is a direct port of the PS2 game's gameplay, which is great news. But the few concessions that were made to fit the game onto the DS were deal-breake... Read Full Review

Age of Empires: Mythologies
Well made sequel, though it is too easy to a fault.
I enjoyed Age of Kings and this sequel is very much like that game, but with improved more colorful 2D graphics and some new army types that includes mythological creatures. The basic gameplay is the same as before with... Read Full Review

Persona 4
Impressively artful design throughout. It is like previous Persona games but this is the best of the bunch so far
The earlier persona games were all about grinding and gaining demons, which can then be fused and used in combat against other demons. The plots were typically very very dark. Persona 3 changed the tone, mostly for th... Read Full Review

Neverwinter Nights 2: Storm of Zehir
A wonky camera and AI significantly detract from a fun RPG. Loading times could be better.
It is clear a lot of time and effort went into designing this add-on and I definitely had fun in the 20 hours I spent playing it. The best thing about it is that one can create a party of 4 from scratch and level them u... Read Full Review

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes
Solid game mechanics with a few truly unique gameplay elements. Some random luck issues though.
There's been lots of praise for this game and I agree with those reviews. The actual gameplay is nothing like HOMM 3 or even HOMM 5 but once you get over that initial shock, you'll find a deep strategy game. And it is ... Read Full Review

Dragon Age: Origins (Collector's Edition)
Undeniably fun crpg but what are its faults?
Since everyone is rightly offering praise for the excellent Dragon Age, I thought I'd offer some of its faults: 1. Early on, there are some sudden difficulty spikes. Not a big deal but I suspect some of the negative r... Read Full Review

Panzer General: Allied Assault
Fun turn-based battles but what is up with the dice roll before every combat? Is that really needed?
I like these kinds of turn-based games and this one actually has a lot to reccommend it. There is a good number of units to choose from and there's also a good variety of terrain squares. How one takes turns was well t... Read Full Review

Risen
For fans of Gothic 2 it is a must play game. It has a few faults but none of them are game-breakers.
Let's just get one thing out of the way: Risen is so very similar to Gothic 2 it can even cause deja vu at times. That's not a bad thing at all if you enjoyed Gothic 2, which I thought was a brilliant action crpg. ... Read Full Review
