Well MS is pretty open about bribing publishers to get exclusive(albeit mostly timed) content and games. if you're refereeing to the $50 million they gave rockstar for the GTA4 content..it was a loan. they're getting that money back.

2 : something that serves to induce or influence
There's no way R* would make exclusive content for the 360 without this 'influence'.
You got things completely wrong. Cell is the only processor NOT custom made. 360's Xenon is only used and designed for 360, same case for Wii Broadway CPU. Cell was conceived to be used in everything, from media players to TVs, notebooks and videogames. That was their marketing reason for using Cell, it would be mass produced so much it would cost much less than the standard custom made vg cpu. I guess it didn't turn out like they expected.

Blu-ray uses MS' VC-9 Codecs. (Also known as VC-1)
SONY being the co-founder makes no difference, the Blu-ray tech is owned by the BDA.
codecs are free..... For the end user, not when you embed them in the player firmware. Anyway the VC1 license was donated to the MPEGLA (which MS is part ot) and all the members share the patent pool usage rights and the royalties that come from them.

Where did I mentioned Sony and when did they ever had a monopoly and where? Sony's clearly and severely declined since last gen because their competition improved a lot but mostly because they fuc&ed up a lot. Nintendo has sold twice the ammount of gamming hardware so far this gen than Sony.
