the fact that portal 2, batman ac, and uncharted 3 scored lower than gears of war 3, at least at gs, baffles me. so i think goty is down to dark souls, portal 2, skyrim, zelda and maybe Arkham city. GS is not know for giving goty to sequels that stick to a winning formula (uncharted 3, gears 3). cant wait to play uncharted 3.

I know R3 and dead space 2 wont win any editorial goty awards, put for me personally i really enjoyed them. Also Resistance 3 is a completely different kind of shooter from cod and battlefield. The gun wheel and awesome guns, as well as focus on single player over multiplayer is what I enjoy. For MW3 and Battlefield 3 your getting playable Michael Bay Movies for single player with no story to speak of. While most of the focus goes to the multiplayer aspects.

i agree, i think some people went into reviewing r3 with the mindset that they didn't like r2, so why is this any better. Also its a fps, and i get the feeling that alot of reviewers go into reviewing fps games with a grain of salt these days because of the over saturation of the genre. I don't play a ton of fps games, but for me R3 is the most fun, fps games ive played in a while, with excellent level design and polished graphics, and great weapons. This is strictly single player. I quit playing competitive multiplayer a while ago, its just a stress inducing activity, before online games, video games were therapy for me. I got into online multiplayer for a while and its just the opposite of what i want video games to make me feel.

I haven't played Rage but I can already tell that as a video game Uncharted 3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Rage. Rage just seems like a generic corridor fps with an "open world" coating and great graphics. Uncharted 3 is an epic action movie made into a video game, with characters you care for and epic environments and setpieces. Uncharted 3 is everything that is right with AAA mainstream blockbuster video games.
