My old man thought AOL created and subsequently owned the internet in '99.

We changed from AOL to BT, and my Dad said "how will we use the internet now, without AOL", he couldn't grasp the concept of a browser. My Grandad also thought broadband was something that goes around your wrist.

seriously.

.com this, google that, download this, upload that...**** all that. What a bore. Call me when we're jacking ethernet cables directly into our brain and swimming in cyberspace. I can't wait till the current internet is over and done with. I feel sorry for this new generation of kids that can't remember a time before the internet.

Bosh wasnt available at the time...And you say you dont believe reports, but you were the first one to bringone up. And you used ESPN.com, so im assuming its your favriote. Amare is nota depsrate move..but hes not boozer, not lebron, wade, bosh, or lee...al who have more value then he does. and yes, amare and NYK is a wise move, but the reason that this hurts NYK's chances at Lebron is because Amare is not bosh or lee or wade...the heat have both Wade and Bosh now...and NYK is out of it for sure...wait...did you say that the heat "don't have the assets to get it done"? How does it feel being wrong, haha

SaintBlaze

Bosh wasn't available at the time? How do you know? The Cavs could still have offered the Raptors trade proposals. Since we heard nothing about Bosh to Cleveland rumors back then, then it's safe to assume Lebron didn't push for Bosh.

The only reports I bring up are the ones that state FACTS, like the signing of player and the money they're getting. Not BS that's saying "Lebron & Bosh to Chicago is a done deal says a source." When did I use ESPN.com BEFORE today? Hmmmm?Heck, even if I did use it, how in the world does it make it my favorite source? Don't make poitnless assumptions like that. It's not a good look.

Lee and Boozer have more value than Amar'e? Right.

So wait, you AGREE with me that Amar'e to NYK is a wise move, yet say he won't attract Lebron? What? Did you even read WHY I said it was a wise move? He's a player Lebron likes, and the 2nd best big man on the market. and PLEASE STFU about Lee attracting Lebron. If Lee is such a hot commodity, why is it that no team has offered him big money yet? Hmmm??? Face it, he's not a magnet for the Big Free agents. That's why you didn't hear anything about D-wade and Bosh recruiting him.

Right. Chris Bosh is going to the Heat. It hasn'tt been revealed to be a sign and trade yet buddy. Until then, I'm correct, for now. Either way, that was a HYPOTHETICAL situation.

NYK is out for sure? No one knows for sure, but you do? Since you're so adament in your belief, let's just wait for tomorrow. :)

They couldve, shouldve, wouldve, but didnt...and there were no facts about this when you brought up your 1st report, so it couldnt have been fact. And yes, Lee and Boozer have more value then Amare, who is older and has had both knee and Eye injuries in the past... i never said lee is attracting lebron...obviously he cant with no team ....and durr Bosh...and now Lebron...are going to the heat...so yes, you were wrong, have fun rooting for a crappy team next year.

Wow, way to make a mountain out of a mole hill. I never said the entire article had NO merit. I said the point that Amare would DETER Lebron from coming to the Knicks is ridiculous. That's my point. How is scoring a big time power forward(One that Lebron himself wanted), in any way shape or form, detrimental to recruiting Lebron? THAT is my major gripe.

And, you know next to nothing about the young core New York has. I'm not saying we've got a team full of untapped all star potential but to say Amare is the singular selling point on our roster is ludicrous.

I don't see why you brought up Chicago or how other teams can make more attractive bids, when I mentioned nothing about them. Thanks for ranting about something I already know. I barely ever doubted Chicago's chances. The only time I did was before the Hinrich trade.

SaintBlaze

Lebron only wanted Amare at the trade deadline because it was THE TRADE DEADLINE. He wanted to make a run at a title, nd amare was the best option at the time. Lebron is no longer intrested in Amare....Knicks make desprate move for 2nd tier free agent with this signing. Lebron going for bosh...sign and trade w/ Raptorscould happen, and thats using info from YOUR favriote source, ESPN.com. OWNED!

Amare was the best option at the time? Lebron could have demanded the Cavs front office to go and get Chris Bosh. He didn't. He pushed for Amar'e.

Lebron is no longer interested in Amar'e? Did he tell you this himself?

Bosh isn't going to the Cavs. ESPN has been pushing garbage rumors with "sources' for the past 2 months. I said it many times before, I'm not believing any "report" until Lebron himself says where he's going. Too bad HE HASN'T SAID ANYTHING. He's been silent this entire time. So, you saying he's soured on Amar'e is more SPECULATION.

And when did I say ESPN.com was my favorite source? You just love spewing garbage, right?

And also, anyone who thinks signing Amar'e is a desperate move is absolutely clueless.

Amar'e signing with NYK, this is a wise move.

Bosh reportedly wants a sign and trade to ensure max years/money. The Heat don't have the assets to get it done. Bulls would not be able to get it done without seriously depleting their roster, which is their greatest selling point. Rockets reportedly want him, and they actually have the pieces. Lets say he goes there.

This leaves Bron and Wade at large. Chicago does not have the space for two maxes. They very well might end up pairing Bron or Wade with one of either Boozer or Lee.

If Bron is left, he chooses between a Cavs team that has no legit second option and very little flexibility, and a Knick team that gives him a second option along with two guys who shoot close to 40% percent from three, one being a high draft pick with plenty of upside. If Wade is left he chooses between a gutted Heat roster, and the Knicks. Signing Amar'e was a very shrewd move on Donnie Walsh's part. But no, you say it's desperate.

P.S. Did you really say "OWNED"? What are you, like 12 years old?

Bosh wasnt available at the time...And you say you dont believe reports, but you were the first one to bringone up. And you used ESPN.com, so im assuming its your favriote. You're missing the point. That article is saying that signing Amare would deter Lebron from coming to NY. Yet, it overlooks the fact that Lebron was also pushing for the Cavs to trade for him. Why didn't he urge them to trade for Chris Bosh instead? Because he thinks pretty highly of Amare I'd assume.

The hyopcracy in the media is ridiculous. Don't fall for it. Their main argument against the Knicks was that the roster wasn't appealing to Lebron. Now, an all star/all nba big man wants come here (who Lebron also wanted on his team) and it's being pegged as a "desperate" move (not by that article per se, but ESPN's JA Adande said it on sportscenter today).

Only in today's modern world of journalism would signing one of the top power forwards in the NBA be seen as a hinderance to landing another star. It's ridiculous.

SaintBlaze

No offense, but your little hypocrisy rant reeks of fanboyism. Look, facts are facts, Lebron was disappointed in Cleveland's roster and they were able to make the second round of the playoffs. I know Lebron was the big reason for that, but you can't totally discount the rest of that team. Is new York any better than that Celveland team, even with Amare? I just don't know, New York has been in the gutter of the NBA for a while now and I could see how Lebron would think that scoring Amare is just a desperate move bya team that has nothing else to offer.

Frankly, Chicago seems to make more sense. They've gone to the playoffs the past two years largely behind the talent of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, and Luol Deng, all of whom are still there AND they're very young. If they score another free agent like Bosh that just makes them all the more attractive, unlike in New York where Amare would be the singular selling point. They also just hired a coach that won the Finals as an assassitant coach and went back to the Finals last year.

I'm not saying New York's not still in this, in fact I think NY and Chicago are the top two bidders, but to say the article has no merit is, frankly, ignorant. It's not totally unreasonable to make the argument that one big name free agent isn't enough to lure Lebron, and it's perfectly reasonable to assume that other teams are making what could be more attractive bids for him. I'm not saying New York IS going to lose out on him, but to totally discount anyone that says they might is pretty ridiculous.

Heck ya, and he hits those fadeaways, idk what your watching, lol

wtf are you high on? he shot under 30% for the month of january or february.. one of those two and it was absolutely sickening.

lol i just remember him lighting up the bulls with like 45 or 55, whatever it was. IDK, VC is one of my favriote players ever, and i see him make those shots plenty. He should get more aggresive tho, its when hes the most fun to watch.

[QUOTE="Ugalde-"]i have always liked Amare so this is great if he goes to NY. He is the perfect fit for LeBron. The way him and Nash played would be very similar to the way that him and LeBron would play since LeBron draws so much attention and can pass so well.SaintBlaze

This deal makes it less likley that lebron will go to NY, the article says. Stoudimire is viewed as a second tier FA, and hes lucky he is getting a maximum contract for 5 years. Take the deal Amare!

Right. The Cavs were pushing hard to get Amare back at the trade deadline, yet now he's not good enough?

Without the Amare move, we were killed for not having a Robin to land Batman. Now that it seems that we've got a verbal deal with one of the best 4s in the league, we are getting killed for overpaying a "second tier" player. Whether the premise is that we can't provide LBJ a sidekick, or that we just signed a sidekick, the conclusion is always the same.

A trade at the trade deadline and a siging in free agency are 2 diffrent things. At the trade deadline, the cavsd would have gotten him on his current deal, whichhas now run out, and they would then be in charge of his rights. They could have just not offered him anything at this time, and then wedbe in theexact same position we are in now. Stoudimire was a target then, but viewed as a second-tier FA now. Diffrent times. So to awnser your question in short form, yes.

[QUOTE="BurnThePriest07"][QUOTE="frostybanana"] Well, the thing that you have to keep in mind is the Magic have a team oriented outlook. Meaning no one person is really going to be the star in terms of points. Kind of like the championship Pistons team or the Spurs. They play good defense and win by spreading the ball. I think when Carter came to Orlando he changed the way he played. Which is why he wasn't anywhere near as aggressive as he used to be. I don't think he'll be scoring 20 a game again to be honest. Not when he has talent like Howard, Rashard Lewis and even Nelson. But I get what you're saying. Honestly, I like JJ Redick and I wish they would involve him more in the offense. He doesn't have Carter's inside game but he's a dead eye shooter from downtown. Yanks2740
ok thats fine, i understand that. how about carter doesn't take 15-20 shots to get his 16 points then? be more efficent and stop taking these outside fadeaway shots on the run like he tends to do, that's what bothers me the most. if he can get the average with more efficiency, i'll stop complaining.

im not an avid magic fan, but from the games i saw last season. Most of his 16 points came in the 4th quarter, when it counts
