Come Fly with me, lets Fly Away!

Some of you may or may not know about the "cover up" Qantas had the other day. For those who don't know, here:

Cover-up over hole in Qantas jet denied

QANTAS boss Geoff Dixon has denied a cover-up by the airline after a report that a packed passenger jet flew with a huge hole torn in its side.

A Seven Network report claimed Qantas had ignored the incident, covered it up, and misled air-safety authorities.

QF5, with 408 people on board travelling from Singapore to Frankfurt, was damaged by a blown tyre just after take-off on March 8 last year.

“Any suggestion that Qantas’s handling of the incident ... was covered up in any way is completely wrong,” Mr Dixon said last night.

“There was no indication at the time of take-off that a tyre had shredded.”

There was no damage to the plane that affected its air worthiness or safety.

“There was no risk to passengers or crew at any time,” he said.

“The incident was reported to the Australian Transport Safety Bureau and Civil Aviation Safety Authority.”

Qantas had carried out its own investigation and provided its results to the safety regulators.

“All decided that the incident did not warrant further investigation,” Mr Dixon said

Seven reported that tyre debris tore a hole 3m long in the jet’s fuselage, and “no official investigation was launched”.

A Perth businessman Karl Dunbar said that he could have crawled through the hole, which was the size of two refrigerators, he saw in the jet at Frankfurt.

Quite shocking I might add. Especially from Singapore Airport. I've been to Singapore airport numerous times and it has been known as one of the safest airports in the world, and for them to miss something like that is well... strange. What a tragedy that would've been if something had gone extremely wrong and the plane crashed.

While I'm on the topic, here is an extroadinary pic I found:

I would hate to live in those houses.

I'm a frequent flyer, and I thought I would give you some wisdom before you choose your next holiday and airline:

False advertising. We flew Thai Airways once. My poor friend got air sick and when we handed the flight attendent "the bag", she just grabbed it and walked off, and was ever so rude for the rest of the flight.

Now this ISN'T false advertising. Emirates is an absolutely fantastic airline, and I highly recommend it. Along with Singapore Airlines.

Must get to work soon. So long! :)
