You buy a computer (Around $1k) and then up grade it (like you said about $500). Now your up to about $1500. And you have to upgrade more than every 6 years if you want to keep up to date but lets say you just touch up every time a new console comes out. Upgrade = $400-$700 where as a very good console costs $500. Computer costs $1k-$2k then another $500 every time you want to upgrade.I just don't see how its any cheaper...
The only way I would ever buy a PS3 was if they changed the look of it, got some good games, and I mean very good ( Microsoft fanboy but I am still getting a Wii) maybe get some decent exclusives, lower the price, make online better, heck why not just merge with Xbox live, because we all know its the best, and admit that Microsoft is better than Sony in every way possible. You all know that these things will never happen therefore I am never buying a Ps3. I do plan on gettin a Wii within the next month or so, therefore I am not a complete Xbox person.
