i died 50+ times to clear Visari Palace on Elite, lol.
lymb's forum posts
@ dok_dx: i wasn't expecting these replies but yeah, they provided a good laugh. i'm glad you enjoyed my post. or theirs. =P
@Zero_epyon: thanks for trying, but my pointing out that Sony did well has only gone to show the ignorance of some cows here.
@Mythomniac, darthogre & Lionheart08: Sorry to disappoint, but I was here to point out why Sony didn't 'lose', not point out that Sony won GamesCom.
Don't get angry because you made a misleading title and people fell for it. That's your fault.
Instead of jumping to conclusions, how about reading my post and then understanding that the title was a hook, and my post an attempt to debunk why lemmings would say Sony did poorly at GamesCom, like they did for E3.
heretrix
waaaait.
It's my fault that people don't read my post? That's news to me.
And it's also my fault that people don't see those quotation marks around the word Lost.
Like Why Sony 'Lost' GamesCom, and not Why Sony Lost GamesCom?
Who's getting defensive here?
I did the same in my previous thread and it went fine. http://www.gamespot.com/pages/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=26908258
You could apologise for a misunderstanding, but you chose to push the blame onto me. Thats real sweet of you.

You might remember me from my previous thread: Why Sony 'Lost' E3. In the same style (please excuse my lack of creativity), I present Why Sony 'Lost' GamesCom.
Because people came expecting 2 announcements from Sony's conference.
The first announcement was the PS3 Slim. After getting it, they downplay it by saying, "we knew it was coming" (non-sequitur), "its ugly" (i remember people saying the same of the PS3) and also, "its going to have overheating problems (i see a 34% reduction in power consumption).
The second announcement was the PS3 price cut."It should have happened last year." I take this statement to mean that you would have bought it last year if it had the price drop then. Given that the PS3 has seen the following highly rated exclusives within the last year: LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, and inFamous, why would your desire to purchase a PS3 diminish? Its the hefty $100 price cut most of you have been asking for.
What about the immense update the PSN store is receiving? Videos and music stores are actually being extended to other regions, unlike the XBox 360's Netflix service. Not to mention comics. Saying you don't care about any of this doesn't exactly negate the fact that this is going to appeal to a lot of other users.
And the 3.00 firmware update, which brings PSN yet another step closer to XBL.
If you're wondering about the GT5 '09 announcement that people were expecting, look no further than TGS, September 24-27.
[10:19] People who preorder Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 between October 1-10 will receive a free download of Gran Turismo PSP.
That's a winning combo.
A $299 system that serves not only as a great multimedia hub, but also a games console offering a library of great exclusives and free online. The argument that the 360 has a bigger/better library of games doesn't sit well with me. Firstly, that does not mean I can't own a PS3 too. Secondly, if I had to choose between a 360 and a PS3, why buy a 360 over a PS3 now when I could have done it a year ago?
The truth: In the past year, apart from a bunch of multi-plats shared with the PS3, the XBox 360 has only the following to crow about: Netflix and Avatars. The 360 is stagnating.
On the other hand, the PS3 has: LittleBigPlanet, Killzone 2, inFamous, Playstation Home. Video and Music stores.
You can be a stubborn fanboy. Or you can be a gamer.
Once again, thanks for reading.
Nice list you got there, but for the most part most of those games are easy plats. I would say that the plats I got out of that list that were a pain were... KZ2, UT3, LBP (from online community), COD WAW, BIOSHOCK. I have more of the time consuming ones like.... Warhawk, Battlefeild Bad Company, GTA 4. Peoples plats don't impress me unless they are from a hard game or a long time consuming games, then and only then they are worth bragging rights really. I can say I have 25 plats and they are all from weak games like Sega Collection or Hana Montana or I can say Hey I have 4 plats from SF4, MK vs DC, GTA 4, Warhawk. Which is more impressive?
ItsBriskBaby
Which is more fun?
I don't think he did all that for bragging rights. I'm not accusing you of saying he did either ;)
My list:
Alone in the Dark
Aquanaut's Holiday: Hidden Memories
Bionic Commando
Bioshock
Burnout Paradise
Call of Duty: World at War
Damnation
Dead Space
Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires
Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard
Fallout 3
Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs
inFamous
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust
LittleBigPlanet
Lord of the Rings: Conquest
Mercenaries 2: World in Flames
Mirror's Edge
Prince of Persia
Quantum of Solace
Resident Evil 5
Resistance 2
Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection
Terminator: Salvation
The Godfather II
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Trivial Pursuit
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Up
Wanted: Weapons of Fate
Wheelman
WWE: Legends of Wrestlemania
X-Blades
X-Men Origins: Wolverine
Playing Prototype now.
fact is, theres no best RE5 loadout, since each level has different enemies.
flash grenades are pretty useful though.
Damn...you are a T-Whore!!! LOL impressive list of platinum's btw
quick question- out of the games that you earned a platinum trophie how would you rank inFAMOUS? i'm interested in picking this game up, but the demo left a lot to be desired. so i figure that if you played inFAMOUS enough to earn the platinum you must have really liked the game. So compared to like Fallout3, LBP, Dead Space, and the rest of your games how would you rank inFAMOUS? Thanks
zmbi_gmr
i've plat those so i think i can answer those questions. i noticed you are playing Prince of Persia as well as Resident Evil 5, so i'll include that. lol, if you actually updated your games page at playfire (i see you just joined 2 days ago =P) i would have been able to add more.
Fun:
LittleBigPlanet
Prince of Persia
Resident Evil 5 (co-op)
Dead Space
Resident Evil 5 (solo)
inFamous
Fallout 3
well, varies from person to person.
Replayability:
LittleBigPlanet
Resident Evil 5
Prince of Persia
inFamous
Dead Space
Fallout 3
a lot of people are going to disagree with me on this. i have no idea how i should explain why I didn't really enjoy Fallout 3, so i shan't. 2nd playthrough for inFamous was more fun that for Dead Space. i'd still rank them this way if i were to consider a 3rd playthrough for each of them though. inFamous swapped places with Dead Space here because the value of scripted scares will inevitably drop. besides, inFamous had a few really awesome missions, mentioned here for the benefit of others reading this post:
Dinner with Sasha and Alden in Chains
Time (for platinum):
LittleBigPlanet
Fallout 3/Resident Evil 5 (30 hours)
Dead Space/inFamous
Prince of Persia
in dead space you had to max upgrades. in inFamous you had to hunt for all blast shards. found them without too much hassle and that was without a guide. i can see how people would rank inFamous higher than Dead Space here though.
Difficulty (of platinum):
LittleBigPlanet
Fallout 3
Resident Evil 5
inFamous
Dead Space
Prince of Persia
inFamous was easier than Dead Space generally, but it has some nasty stunts you have to work for. I didn't have any trouble for the ADS Cannon trophies for Dead Space though.
i hope i helped =P
yeah, to become one i dumped my gf, ditched my friends and quit my job.
i rent games just for an easy plat. mirror's edge and call of duty: world at war? pffft, easy!
i came in here just to brag about my little icons to all of you inferior gamers.
excuse me, i've got to get back to hannah montana!
