I think that directx 9 still can be pushed further, many games are already looking amazing. Until a game comes out designed straight for Dx10, we are not going to see spectacular jaw dropping changes that will make Dx9 look dated. Actually, from seeing LPEC for Xbox back then.... I thought this game was for PC too. Now its coming out in June, Im looking forward for it. Yeah!
Your right Wizard, who games at those Hi resolutions?? But then again, its only to show the highest resolution the cards can perform up to, not the monitors that support them right now. Couple years ago, the higher tested resolution for benchmarks were around 1600X1200. And im know there are people who actually gamed at that level. Maybe 30 fps is just playable for most parts, but ppl dont buy the card for that......they buy it becuz the card will exceed their expectations, and knowing that if it can run 2048 on Vista fine, it will run awesome on lower resolutions. Anyways, for my thoughts on this card..... No need to rush, we all know the drill. Nvidia will bring out a new generation of DX10 by summer or end of 2007. And ATI will do the same.... Besides, if you rather save your dough now, and if you already got a very good PC setup, Crysis will run fine on DX9 WindowsXP machines. All the stuff we are seeing right now on screenshots, gameplay are mostly demoed on DX9 settings anyways. Jaw dropping aint it. ?
