Toshiba should drop the price on the HD-DVD drive if they really want to compete.

[QUOTE="SkyCastleDan"]I picked up Casino Royale on Blu-Ray and I must say, while the picture quality doesn't blow me away, I'm impressed with the sound. I got the whole big surrond sound home theatre thing happening here, and the Blu-Ray DVD really captured exactly what I was truly looking for when I set this thing up. Anyone else have suggestions for good Blu-Ray DVDs to pick up?SHARKuk

If the picture quality doesnt blow you away you need to either adjust your settings or get a better t.v. Because anything in 1080p is amazing even dog muck in a bucket.

Not true,  The Fifth Element looks better on Superbit DVD9 then it does on Bluray.

Incubus, Nine Inch Nails, Happy Feet, Ice Age, Crank, Chicago, Pearl Harbor, Kingdom of Heaven, Open Season, Kung Fu Hustle,  Chicken Little...

Those are all the top BD movies when it comes to audio and video..

Pearl Harbor, Incubus, Nine Inch Nails, Chicago, and Pearl Harbor all got 5 out of 5 in the audio at highdefdigest, and 4 or better in video.

Nine Inch Nails, Happy Feet, Ice Age, and Crank are probabley the best looking that i can think of off the top of my head.

avsforum is down right now,  but if you google  "Bluray Tier System"  you will find a good thread that list the best looking bluray movies from best to worst.

[QUOTE="Redfingers"][QUOTE="Shadow_op"]Do you know how big the Hard-Drive is for the Elite? Quiet then, mortal.winner-ps3

In three years, when I run out of space on my 60 gig (unlikely), I will buy a 200 or maybe 300 gig hard drive. Shush. I'm not kidding, just shush. Or dip your head in water. You still don't have an HD format or free internet, so you have absolutely nothing on us. Plus, no Wi-fi, but that's another thing.

A USB WiFi adaptor is $12 dollars...

Where is the PS3 headset?

Where is the HD cable?

Where is the upscaling DVD player?

urs is an ugly add on, but standard on 60 gig ps3

blutooth cell phone headset works

$8 monoprice

upscaling is coming and we have bluray (next standard in dvd)

Elite is extremely over priced! and is only going to help sony more than anything

I edited my post since now your bringing up HD formats...

Bluetooth Cell Phone headsets are free??

Wow,  4 dollars less then the USB WiFi adaptor for the 360

Upscaling DVD's has never been mentioned or hinted at by Sony.........

PS3 needs to include more of the essentials...

[QUOTE="killaj2786"][QUOTE="GoodContributor"]$499 PS3 has has HDMI plus Blue-Ray (most blue-ray players are $700). Elite doesn't have HD-DVD. So essentially you're paying a lot of dough for a black 360 premium with HDMI. The bigger hardrive is another downfall, because you can buy a computer hard-drive and plug it in your PS3, no biggie. With 360 it's not the same (it can done but you risk losing your xbox). winner-ps3

Have to pay for an HDMI cable Have to buy a bigger hard Drive + tax for both + the fact that only 20% of those PS3's exist in the world( that would be bout a 1.5 mil outta of the 6 mil shipped) Ur thread failed badly.

HDMI cable $8 monoprice.com

can purchase much bigger harddrive for less money

20gig in short supply bc their is more interest in the 60gig

u fail

20GB PS3's flew off the shelves because they were a better deal then the 60GB PS3's.

Sony losses more money on each 20GB PS3 sold then they do on each 60GB sold.  That's why they are nowhere to be found...Sony does not wanna lose more $ on each PS3 sold then they have to,  and consumers don't wanna pay more for a PS3 then they have to..
