@gwynnblade:

I guess if he throws a molotov cocktail at them, tear gas wouldn't be aggressive enough to protect them...

The IDF does not fire 17yo "just like that". You have no idea what it's like. When someone tries to violently cross the border and tries to attack you. Soldiers in the field take very difficult decisions, and sometimes. But that's rarely the case... In general, a terrorist can be 17yo, I don't think someone would shoot him just because he's Palestinian. The IDF does not work like that. I am very familiar with the IDF and how it values life. It's the most important thing in the world, and no one should get hurt if he isn't dangerous for your life immediately. But if he runs with a pistol or an explosive belt, I bet any soldier of any army, even the US, would try to protect itself in that scenario.

And majority of Israelis and Palestinian don't want to harm anybody. But if a soldier of my country is in danger, I justify whatever is necessary for him to keep his friends, family and civilians safe.

Just like with any other army.

Okay, I feel like I should respond to all of this.

First, I want to say I am being completely serious about this and I want you to read the whole post before quoting.

I am a Jewish and Israeli for the matter of fact. Now before you pass the post, please continue reading no matter how mad you are at Israel.

First I want to say that I am disgusted by any terror, Palestinian or Jewish. Because terror is terror - it's evil and not fair. I hate it. I was shocked by the incident and it really makes me sad. Just like I was sad when Palestinian terrorist kidnapped three teenagers back at the time. Both sides, Palestinians and Israelis are fine by the most part. These are the minor extreme religious of both sides that harm everyone. Both sides are taking damage from both terrorist - from inside (like at the pride parade) and outside (like the horrible terrorism that caused the death of the baby).

Terror is terror, but not all Israelis are terrorist, just like the other way around. That's just not the way to think about it. Hamas is a real problem, it's a terror organization that harms Israeli civilians to terrorize fear and show us that they are powerful. IDF is acting as it should by neutralizing terrorists as they attack, and trying to avoid any harm to Palestinian civilians.

And when there are underground routes to our civilian villages, soldiers have to get in and destroy those... And sometimes, the extreme people put their childrens at the front line of fire, it's horrible when innocent people get hurt. Just like when they are firing rockets at the south part of Israel. Actually, I live in the south and occasionally having an alarm. I find myself having to run to the shelter and hoping nobody will get hurt. It's a reality that's hard to live in. And when it crosses the line, the IDF has to enter Gaza and destroy rocket firing fields, in order to protect our civilians.

So again, I just want to make myself clear about the incident, I am really disgusted by the evil of humanity. Those terrorists deserve a serious punishment (I am not going to talk about my state about death penalty). No matter their being Jewish or Palestinian or anything actually.

But the IDF is doing a great job making us safe while trying to protect innocent civilians in both sides. Have a good weekend everyone.
